Count Jackson out for Sunday’s game

Barring a sudden and highly unexpected change in Jim Haslett’s original stance, count RB Steven Jackson out for Sunday’s game against the New York Jets. And don’t be surprised if Jackson’s strained thigh muscle keeps him sidelined for another week or two.

After Jackson’s aborted attempt to play last Sunday vs. Arizona, Haslett insisted that Jackson be able to put in a full practice this week before he’d clear him for the Jets game. Jackson did nothing at practice Wednesday or Thursday, and he isn’t on the field this morning at Rams Park.

So, the RB duties go to newcomers Kenneth Darby and Samkon Gado, with Antonio Pittman (hamstring) a possibility for the rotation. Pittman did some work Thursday and Friday. Travis Minor (concussion) isn’t expected to be cleared until next week.

All for now . . . more after practice.

Wow, not good. But I decided to be daring and put Kenneth Darby on my fantasy team because he is projected to get 15 points. We will see what happens.....

Protect our investment? It doesn't seem like our investment was worth it. Having Jackson sit until next season so that he is 100% healthy is a joke in my opinion. This guy gets hurt and misses time no matter what the circumstances are. He's paid to play so I say he plays.

Despite repeating myself for the 50th time, Haslett killed our season by having the big boy carrying the ball with a 24 point lead and five minutes left in the dallas game. What a joke! How do you spell BACKUP!!!!!!

Re: Count Jackson out for Sunday’s game

He needs to do a Ronnie Lott and amputate that leg so he can play this Sunday!!! Or maybe his hair is too heavy, cut that to. THIS IS BULL!!! all that crap during training camp and all we get is a highly paid spectator? This just sums up the attitude of our offense, we have no leaders that are willing to lead. Torry Holt is no different. He's not getting the ball but at the same time he's not doing anything to rally this team during adversity. We don't have any real veteran leadership on that side of the ball. Bulger says he don't give a bleep, Torry says "we'll see" and Jax don't play when he don't feel good. If that's not a winning edge then i don't know what is.

This is rough. Especially if he is inactive for a few more weeks.

I hope Darby and Gado really step it up. We need it...
