Covet Thy Neighbors: Which Division Player Would You Most Like To Steal
If you could steal one player from a division rival, who would it be?
Re: Covet Thy Neighbors: Which Division Player Would You Most Like To Steal
Larry Fitzgerald. Rams need a good playmaking WR who can consistently get separation from coverage. Defenses would really need to account for the Rams passing game then, it would not only help out Avery or Robinson, who would be then in single coverage, but also Jackson as teams would no longer be able to crowd the box.
If the Rams some how acquired Fitzgerald next offseason I think the Rams would possibly be favourites for the NFC West in 2011.
It's nice to dream.....

There are a few players on that list that i would consider
DT Darnell Dockett is a force on the inside, and would instantly improve our front 7
TE Vernon Davis has great athletic and would be a good safety net for young Sam Bradford
LB Patrick Willis is a great player, but you could say that if there was one player that does not need replacing on this defense, its James Laurinaitis
I would also add SS Adrian Wilson to the list, who is a pro bowl quality player who is great in both coverage and run support.
But i think its quite clear that the Rams would benefit the most from adding a true WR to this team. The question is though, would it be better to take the older, more experienced, but better player Larry Fitzgerald, or would it be better to take the younger, promising, but still up and coming Michael Crabtree.
You could argue that Crabtree would be a better choice since he is just 22 right now, and would pair with Bradford for many years to come. However, considering Fitzgerald is only 26, and WR is a position that a guy can play well past his 30s, i think the age difference is not enough to pick Crabtree over Fitzgerald. That's why i pick Fitz

Fitzgerald is so far and away better than any of the receivers we have that it makes this question a no brainer
Re: Covet Thy Neighbors: Which Division Player Would You Most Like To Steal
If I could choose Anquan Boldin I'd take him over Fitz. But, since I guess hes already gone I'll go with Fitzgerald.

Interesting results so far.
Maybe I should have made the question, "Other than Larry Fitzgerald..."
Re: Covet Thy Neighbors: Which Division Player Would You Most Like To Steal
100% no doubt, it's Fitzgerald. The team has got to have a WR step up and play well... and Fitz would do that.
Now OTHER than Fitzgerald, I would go with DRC. The secondary is banged up and just hasn't looked very good this preseason so far, while the front seven has actually been pretty good. DRC is explosive and is also a pretty good tackler.

Fair enough. DRC. Guy had 3 forced fumbles, 6 picks and 25 PDs. I'll take that.
Re: Covet Thy Neighbors: Which Division Player Would You Most Like To Steal
Fitzgerald is not only arguably the best player on that list, but currently the position where we have the greatest need, it is no wonder everyone picked him. (Although some beg to differ)
I understand trying to fill out the list, but why is Curry on there? Laurinitis had a much better year (Including not getting benched). If anything I would think that Seahawks fans would be pondering taking Laurinitis instead of Curry :D At least based purely on their first seasons.

You should have seen this one coming Av. Fitzgerald is a force, a difference maker and a total game changer. Is there really any other choice?
Re: Covet Thy Neighbors: Which Division Player Would You Most Like To Steal
I'm not surprised that Fitzgerald is the first choice, though I thought there might be a few votes for Patrick Willis (who could certainly play OLB in a 4-3) and Vernon Davis.
The toughest thing about this poll was coming up with a couple of Seahawks to list. As I looked through their roster, there weren't too many players who made think, "Wow! I'd love to have that guy!"

You aren't kidding there. That roster is looking like the Rams 5 years ago. Maybe take Forsett as a 2nd RB; maybe Carlson; maybe Tatupu (if he were back to his 2007 version); maybe Unger; maybe Spencer.
But yea, nobody that makes me jump for joy.
Re: Covet Thy Neighbors: Which Division Player Would You Most Like To Steal
Matt Leinart!!!!
ok ok just kidding. ya, Fitz seems the best addition. if not him, Vernon Davis for sure. I like Bajema and Fells, but they're simply not top tier TE's. You could tell last year, that the light came on and Davis is starting to play to his potential. He'll be a force if he keeps progressing

Fitz is the runaway first choice, but willis is my runaway second choice. The only thing is that i think laurianitis is terrific and while willis is better, given the number of holes we have, we can upgrade a lot more significantly elsewhere (ie wide receiver). I just dont see a receiver on that list anywhere near as good as willis, and therefore, i would follow the suggestion of (after Fitz), taking willis and moving either him or the son of animal to the outside.
