Re: Covet Thy Neighbors: Which Division Player Would You Most Like To Steal
I say we get dockett and Willis. Then we switch to the 3-4 and my Madden team can't lose!

Re: Covet Thy Neighbors: Which Division Player Would You Most Like To Steal
Before Kurt retired, this would have been easy & it's hard to predict longterm value of guys like Earl Thomas, Crabtree, Curry,et al, but right now I'd go for Dockett. I think he would have the much-theorized Suh effect on the entire defense right away while simultaneously weakening our strongest NFC opponent's ability to attack one of The Rams' greatest vulnerabilities, ie the green OT/QB situation. A nice win/win,imo.

I'm going to say Crabtree. He showed flashes of his talent when he finally took the field for the whiners and he has tremendous upside and I could just see him and Bradford begin a great career.

Other than Fitz, I would say Frank Gore. Him and Jax in the backfield would be lethal to say the least.

Other than Fitz, I'd maybe get Russell Okung.
He'd give us a highly talented, elite potential OT. Then, we could move either Saffold or Jason Smith inside, solidifying our o-line.

Other than Fitz, Vernon Davis. He really turned it on last season, and he may still get better with time.

Re: Covet Thy Neighbors: Which Division Player Would You Most Like To Steal
Davis has had some attitude problems, and Fitz is so far and away better I don't think I could justify Davis over Fitz
EDIT: Stupid brain no function

Re: Covet Thy Neighbors: Which Division Player Would You Most Like To Steal
Other than Fitz, I'd take Mike Iupati .. Yep he's a rookie, but he's going to be a monster - this year even. Given our current situation at guard, Pati would be a big upgrade. Goldie is versatile, but not the road grader Pati is - at 6'6" and an athletic 330 lbs, Mike would be a youthful and steller addtion to our O-line. If it wasn't for Laurinaitis, I would have picked Willis. GC may be right about Willis being better, but James is still a darn good player right now, and will continue to improve. It would be interesting to hear what Steven Jackson would have to say on the question this thread poses .. Av - do you have SJ's email??

#2 DTC. I'd rather have a premier young DE but the NFC West doesn't have one IMO. After that, you get a premier CB.

Cromartie...considering we had "ZERO" picks from our cornerbacks last season.

Re: Covet Thy Neighbors: Which Division Player Would You Most Like To Steal
IMO the two best players in the division are Fitzgerald and Willis, so if you take the BPA you'd end up with one of them. And since Willis already plays for my team...
But I'm not sure I'd do that. Davis is a good receiver in his own right and there are some other options on offense as well (granted, they aren't Fitz, but still). With this being the last year of Smith's contract, I could stand pat and take Bradford and let him sit and learn this year before giving him the start next year. But I'd want someone who can contribute now but is still relatively young. I've already nixed Fitzgerald, and while I like Steven Jackson, his injury history and age would worry me. Our corner situation could use some help and it never hurts to have another pass rusher. That narrows it down to Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Darnell Dockett. DRC is young and talented, but the thought of Justin Smith and Darnell Dockett harassing QBs all day gets me stoked. He's not as young as I'd like and I think he's kind of a punk, but dude is the real deal. Who needs corners when the QB can't get off the pass on a 3 step drop? I'd take Dockett.
I didn't buy him as a quarterback. He's just so stiff, especially when he drops back to pass. Really stiff. He reminds me of Kurt Warner.
