Re: Create your first string all-star Rams team.

Rambos, you are a great guy, but no marshall faulk? Outstanding choices overall. I think you have to go with doug smith over saul. Also, i dont think you can really put orlando pace at guard, he has never played guard for us. Tackles have to be pace and slater. I would substitute Hercules at guard for pace.

Not sure the criteria you used, lane was an all time great, but only played for the rams for two years. Tough to say how you compare eras. Warner over waterfield and van brocklin is an interesting choice, but again, comes down to the eras. Les Richter is not mentioned, he was certainly an all time great ram.

Not sure about rosey grier at tackle, again, his career span on the rams was pretty short. Contrary to popular belief, i wouldnt put ryan pickett in that spot in place of grier, but i might consider either larry brooks or dmarco farr.

I like the idea of only having one choice not two or three. For me personally, I got see ED in person, the Rams camp was 10 min from my house, I would go watch them practice in camp every day. At that time ED was running behind a great line and he just ran wild, 150 -200 yard games. He was the team, for me he will always be my favorite Rams back. It's hard when you have to pick just one guy, for me it is ED, Still holds the rushing record for most yards in a season.

Re: Create your first string all-star Rams team.

Rambos, GC, this list is obviously involving a definite sentimental bias. It is just too difficult, IMO, to base the ranking on stats and/or years active with the team.

    So here goes...

    ALL STAR - ALL TIME

QB - Roman Gabriel / Kurt Warner [no 'back-up', just a tie! ]
C - Ken Iman / Doug Smith [hey, how about that - another tie! By coincidence.]
    T - Bob Brown
    T - Jackie Slater
    G - Tom Mack
    G - Joe Scibelli
    TE - Billy Truax
    WR - Torry Holt
    WR - Isaac Bruce
    WR - Jack Snow
RB - Erik Dickerson / Marshal Faulk [For me, an inevitable tie. ]

    DE - Deacon Jones
DE - Jack Youngblood / Leonard Little [A "Maybe" for the latter]
    DT - Merlin Olsen
DT - Rosey Grier - [might come up w/another tie here...]
LB - Jack Reynolds / Les Ritcher
LB - Jack Pardee / Marlin McKeever
LB - London Fletcher / Myron Pottios
    CB - Irv Cross
    CB - Night Train Lane
FS - Eddie Meador / Nolan Cromwell
    SS - Aeneas Williams

    P - Pat Studstill
    K - Bruce Gossett / Jeff Wilkins

    PR - Henry Ellard
KR - Ron Brown / Travis Williams

    Head Coach
    George Allen / John Robinson
