Culpepper situation shows again why I hate internet sportswriters
Did you see the latest breaking news story from Rotoworld?
Wow! That's quite a scoop - particularly given that teams are not allowed to discuss plans to sign a player under contract if he is released (its called tampering).Report: Rams want Culpepper if he's released.
NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports the Rams would be interested in Daunte Culpepper if he's released. They will not make a trade offer.
But, wait... what did Schefter actually write?
Hmmm... that doesn't sound like a news report to me. Maybe it was the words "possible" and "speculated" (not to mention the fact that "NFL personnel men" isn't very specific) that created the impression that this is merely, well, speculation about a possible outcome (maybe its just me).Possible destinations for Culpepper according to NFL personnel men that speculated on the matter still include the Detroit Lions, the Jacksonville Jaguars, the New England Patriots and the St. Louis Rams.
As I've said before, kids. If you want a job with no accountability whatsoever, become an internet sportswriter.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

To be fair, Schefter isn't only an internet sports writer. He also works with the NFL-Network.

Re: Culpepper situation shows again why I hate internet sportswriters
I just seen on the NFLN that the only thing known about Culpeppers destination temas is that it DEFINITLY will NOT be Alt, Min, Ari, Chi. (I don't understand why Chi isn't picking up someone to replace Grossman). Theyu said there are absolutley no teams "known" to be seeking out Culpepper however there are three teams, unknown, that have began trade talks.
Also as I am writing this, news just came in on the NFLN that "Culpepper was escourted off the field during minicamp today. It was said that he would not be taking snaps while Green was on the field and he was told to leave"

hey this is a better idea yet , give miami the 6th rd pick from denver , sign culpepper , that way we don't have to pay a new contract to bulger , and we can win the superbowl . at least pay him starter money and cut ferrotte , because the qb situation at ramstown is in deep dispair with bulger - ferrotte - and fitz . thank god for the chance to get culpepper and save our team from missery . aawwe horsecrap . send him to detroit . and let the vikings slap him around twice a year .

Re: Culpepper situation shows again why I hate internet sportswriters
The day I get a paycheck for writing here I will become an internet sportswriter. Until then, I just do it for the love of the game.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!
