Re: Don't Look Now, but Someone in Trouble
We can't trade him right now anyway, the trade deadline has passed. By the time we can trade him perhaps this incident will be blown over and we can get something.

Re: Don't Look Now, but Someone in Trouble
Frankly, I don't think there is much of a market for non-productive rookie TEs with rap sheets.

Re: Don't Look Now, but Someone in Trouble
According to a post on another site, Byrd started the confrontation by grabbing a woman's posterior. The victim intervened in her defense, and Byrd hit him with a glass/bottle (not clear which).
Classy guy. :\

Re: Don't Look Now, but Someone in Trouble
I beg to differ. Until his high ankle sprain a few weeks ago, he was a top-5 wide receiver. I would think that at a minimum, he would have supplanted Curtis as number 3. If he doesn't get hurt, he would probably have been offensive rookie of the year...which he still might accomplish if the injury doesn't linger. You list Colston there, but honestly he doesn't even get on the field as a Ram, so nobody would know who he is.Clannie Nominee for ClanRam's Thickest Poster

Re: Don't Look Now, but Someone in Trouble
The only reason he is a top 5 WR is because he got the chance to play on a team who is weak and injured at WR. Coming here wouldn't have benefited Colston and I don't think he would have gotten the opportunity to beat out Curtis and maybe not even Shaun, so like I said nobody would know him. The point is he got lucky and he got on the right team at the right time and is playing well, but back on draft day he wasn't highly thought of by any teams, so I don't think he can be listed as someone we could have drafted realistically based on our needs.

Dominic Byrd arrested!!
Rams player charged in clash at bar
By Bill Bryan
ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH
12/04/2006
The circuit attorney's office filed a second-degree assault charge today against St. Louis Rams player Dominique Byrd following an early-morning scuffle in the Pepper Lounge at 2005 Locust Street, authorities said.
About 1:30 a.m. today, Byrd is alleged to have grabbed a woman's buttocks .When a man standing nearby challenged Byrd, police said, the Rams player grabbed a beer bottle and struck the man in the head. The bottle broke, and the man was taken to a hospital and got stitches to close the wound, police said.
Police said Byrd was expected to surrender today.
Byrd, 22, is a rookie tight end for the Rams. He played last year for Southern California.
