Dane Looker - Career threatening injury?

Read a couple of times in various places that doctors found a spot on Looker's brain during MRI. Could be possible brain aneurysm? Anybody heard anything about this?

Let's all take a moment to pray for Looker and his family and the Ram's organization, whether or not this is confirmed ...

Makes you realize that somethings are bigger than football ...

And if he does have an aneurysm, well, God works in strange ways, and maybe the hit that caused the concussion was the wake up call for having Looker looked (no pun intended) at and having this possible aneurysm found ...

Again, take a minute to pray for our Ram's soldier ...

My understanding is that they re-evaluated it and concluded that the spot was a false-positive. He is out this week due to the concussion, though.

Well, I may have spoken too soon. Apparently, he is having more tests:

ST. LOUIS -- Rams wide receiver Dane Looker is scheduled for additional medical tests after a CAT scan revealed a spot on his brain.
Looker said Wednesday that the abnormality is unrelated to a concussion he sustained against the Buffalo Bills on Sept. 28. The CAT scan cleared Looker to return from the concussion, but he won't practice until the current issue is resolved.
Looker has six receptions for 108 yards and a touchdown this season.
The Rams re-signed Eddie Kennison, who was released on Tuesday with the expectation that Looker would be fine. Kennison, signed Sept. 9 after Drew Bennett was sidelined with a broken foot in the season opener, has played sparingly in two games.

My sister has spots on her brain right now and the doctors are working to figure out what that means. Right now they are coming up with MS or Lupus. It is not fun thinking about such things and sometimes the doctors have no idea what they are looking at.

I hope that Dane Looker's brain spot is not serious.

Yes, I very much hope that it's not something serious, and just a screw up on the scan somehow, or, like you said Av, is a false positive. Looker is a true soldier, coming back last year after almost bleeding out when his thigh muscles separated from his bone, and now this. I hope he comes back stronger than ever! Ram on, Dane!

If it is an aneurysm, and they found it, it is very treatable, although that can't be what it is since that is easily diagnosed. Thoughts and prayers for you Dane.

These things can be tricky. Looker has been a very good player for us nothing is worth taking a chance on your health. There was a local high school kid who died of a brain injury where I live, he had two concussion in a short time. It's not worth it.

On a football level, it doesn't really affect the team much. On a personal level, you hate to see it. Hopefully, it was just a faulty X-ray or something. He's not the most talented of WRs in the NFL, but he is one of the only Rams that seems to give it his all every play.

That kinda makes me mad, this guy coulda been our #3 receiver but he was never given the right opportunity.

Looker is a very solid wide receiver, am I the only one who sees that? The guy is an animal.

I've yet to see any confirmation on this story, so I'll hold out hope until then.

I've met him twice, and he treats fans more like your neighbor than a professional athlete. It's not just "scribblin' & walkin'"; he will actually carry on a conversation if possible.

I hope and pray for his full health.

Neil Young had a brain aneurysm (sic?) in 2005..they put bio-degradable springs in his brain..he`s fine now and has played over 600 gigs since...i know its different for a footballer,but if its true what they say,then he could still have a good life,tho obviously his career is over...thoughts go out to him and his loved ones.
