Deacon Jones - NFL Network
Tonight at 6:00EST on NFL Network, there is a segment called
"NFL Films Presents - Old School" Which will feature Bobby Mitchell, Willie Gilmore, Lenny More and Deacon Jones. I don't know what it's going to be about but I noticed that Deacon will be on there.

Thank you, Milan!
It is 13 min. past the hour (3 PM here in the NW) and I just finished watching the opening segment of the show you announced ... fortunately the one on our idol, David Deacon Jones. Must get back to work now.
The Original Sackmaster. Yes sireee bob! :1:
It was great to see that short, mini documentary again on former Rams No. 75 -- I actually recorded that section three or four years ago on a VHS video.
Just l-o-v-e to see those uniforms too!

Re: Deacon Jones - NFL Network
My first time seeing Deacon in action, I liked his on field play. He was a bit too cocky off the field though.

Re: Deacon Jones - NFL Network
Yes, Milan, good observation: the Deacon was cocky and almost arrogant. :clanram:
But please don't get the wrong idea. It was in a nice, funny way -- the era of Cassius Clay. Deacon Jones is a good man, really. He talks fast and is very articulate. Nevertheless, he was highly respected as he was also respectful; a fine and good friend of his Rams teammates and of his coaches, especially of Coach Allen.
I remember.
I also remember how it was when he was ON the field!
I tell you, the combination of the Rams fierce D in those days and those white/blue unis ... a thing of beauty!Last edited by RealRam; -02-15-2006 at 11:55 PM.

Absolutely, Canadian!

One of the "Playing Days" photos from his Foundation website: a quick sidestep, then on to the QB! :angryram:

Re: Deacon Jones - NFL Network
How 'bout a solid, 'Deaconesque' knockdown just as John Brodie gets rid of ball...
