    Dear Coach McDaniels...

    Mr. Josh McDaniels
    Offensive Coordinator
    Rams Park
    One Rams Way
    St. Louis, MO 63045

    Dear Coach McDaniels,

Congratulations on your hiring as the Rams' Offensive Coordinator. I believe I can speak for Rams fans everywhere when I say that we are excited about what you will bring to the Rams' offense in 2011.

I am writing to ask if you would be willing to send me a copy of your playbook, and maybe some DVDs of previous teams (New England, Denver) running your plays. This is just for me, and I can assure you that I have no intention of sharing these materials with anyone.

    Thanks!

    AvengerRam

P.S. On a completely unrelated matter, could you also send me Sam Bradford's mailing address?

    Dear Mr AvengerRam,

Thank you for your kind words. I'm excited to be in St Louis.I get to ride a paddle steamer to work & they have baked ravioli jello for lunch every day. It's pretty neat.

This is kind of embarrassing & I'm not supposed to tell anyone ( I guess I can trust you since you're a lawyer & stuff) but I lost the playbook . Me & my brother, Benny, were driving my stuff over from Denver, stopped outside Oklahoma City to eat the packed lunch our mom made for us, and we got attacked by a Cherokee war party. This one guy- tall with really short but surprisingly shiny & luxuriant-looking hair for a Native American guy - weaved through four lanes of traffic, stiff-armed a pick-up, then smashed the driver's side window with a rock from about 40 yards away, snatched Ben and the playbook( he was sitting on it so he could see over the wheel) & took off. Losing Ben really sucked, obviously, because I had to drive the rest of the way, not to mention unload the car, all by myself. I just hope Uncle Steve and Uncle Billy don't find out about the playbook. I could send you some of my special practice tapes, though. You'd never guess how many NFL players wear a thong during walk-throughs; it's pretty funny.

    Sincerely,
    Josh

Yeah, that was a cheap shot, AV. My apologies on Josh's behalf.

I really do wonder if Ben is J-Mac's conduit to Sam, though. Maybe I'm just hearing what I want to but the phrase JT used to answer a question about the issue in a recent chat just smacked of a "party line" denial.Almost as if he was winking when he said it.

I just want to know if he has any tapes of January 2002. You know, the tapes the NFL thought they burned?

    Re: Dear Coach McDaniels...

You can find copies of the Patriots 2004 offensive playbook online. Josh made some very significant changes to Charlie Weis' old offense but most of the terminology and the like remained the same.

    Just saying ;-)
