    Re: Defensive Coordinator

This is Blake's big break. He'll try like hell to keep his carreer moving with "his" brand on the defense while being Fishers protege. "The tastefully named Gregg Williams" brings too much scrutiny to the team and too much power to the island. Sorry Greggg.

Fisher and father won't let Blake lose this chance to advance.

    Maybe Fisher promotes from within?

Other names to think about: Mike Singletary, Rob Ryan

Rob Ryan could be an interesting candidate. Mike Singletary...Not so much!

To clarify, I'm not promoting either one. Just tossed those names out there because they are guys linked to Fisher's past.

Rob Ryan is interesting if the Cowboys make a regime change in that Fisher is from the Buddy Ryan tree of defense so Rob would run pretty much the D that Fisher likes run

    Re: Defensive Coordinator

We all gotta think about this. GW has been good, but is it because of all the bounties that he's used to drive teams? He won't have that luxury anymore. Whats his 1st locker room speech gonna be like. Be careful when you hit the qb and if you hurt someone your on your own on that one? The D is starting to gel and i say if it aint broke blah blah blah. Bring in more playmakers not playcallers because i see what we have right now working.

    Re: Defensive Coordinator

Well jeff fisher said that not having a dc has been an impediment and it will need to get solved this offseason. I agree everything is going well so no reason to make a big splash. Getting a coordinator that would complement our defense sounds good to me

    Re: Defensive Coordinator

As a fan I would not get overconfident with this defense. I don't think it is anywhere near elite level yet. This defense has been exposed at different times this season especially against some of the better offenses.

Certainly there will be an acquisition of talent over the offseason and I see no good reason to get complacent with the coaching and coordination of that talent.

    Re: Defensive Coordinator

someone who doesn't use soft defenses all the time would be great

didn't really pay attention if greg williams used soft coverage or not

    Re: Defensive Coordinator

I'd rather give the job to Blake Williams than see the lack of character Dad back on the sidelines.

He really threw some players under the bus(along with Joe Vitt who is slimey) whether they deserved to be or not and I question if he could command any level of respect of current players. Gregg Williams IMO is a not someone you need.
