Any of you old time Ram Fans. Does anyone remember a defense this bad?? The thirty some years I remember I don't ever remember ANYTHING coming close.

We have had some bad games as rams but, i cannot blame this loss on the D alone!.........They had held the Redskins to a score that our Offense should have easily out scored this Team!.The D was on the field quit a bit today since the Offense couldn't get ANYTHING done So really the D did not do that bad especially on short yardage big runs do tend to happen alot when we play up close as we did!
The Offense should have helped the D out today! they didn't and then gave up a few turnovers that led to scores so we might want to step back and think about this before we really start getting really down on our D...They actually held Washington for 3 quarters! well almost 3. and if the offense would have done their job then the d would not have been put in this predicament.........theres no difference in letting a team run for 200 + yds or to have been thrown on for 200+
Well, quantitatively speaking, we're on course to give up 468 points for the year, which is 29.25 points per game. In Rams history, our D has been worse in:Quote:

That's it, the only year we've given more in a season and per game.

(Excluded from this list is another 6 games in which we scored 10 points exactly)
However, this ties for the WORST home offensive display since the move to St. Louis. In '97, the Seahawks held us to 7 at home, and in '96 the Packers held us to 9.
This is the WORST home numbers overall since 1994. In Week 5, Atlanta beat us 8-5 in LA.
Yesterday game was a comic routine. It was Moe, Larry, and Curly on Portis TD run. The Rams DT basically fell down, the LB ran trip right over each other knocking themselves out of the play and the Redskin OG knock the safety out to give Portis clear sailing.
On Cartwright run, the DT was knocked back 3 yards, 2 LB basically got caught by the DT being knocked back and was taken out of the play. That leaves the Redskin OG against the LB. No competition. Furrey took another bad angle and it took Bartell to come all the way from the other side of the field to save the TD.
Did anyone see Jerome Carter trying to tackle the WR for a loss. Ball was thrown to the WR 2 yards behind the line of scrimmage. Carter barrel towards the WR. He went for the WR feet but tried to tackle him with HIS BACK!! JEROME, WHO TAUGHT YOU TO TACKLE THAT WAY?
Basically, the WR jumped over Jerome and ran for a 7 yard gain instead of a 2 yard loss.
PATHETIC.
We lost more games in 97-98 seasons so this is pretty close !
The worst part about yesterday was not only did we allow 2 100 yard rushers, but Cartwright started the season as a FB.
We let a frigging FB to run for 100 yards!
Why Marmalade is still employed this morning is beyond me.
If you look at some of the players on D ; Kennedy, Pickett, Lewis, Arch, Fisher, Pisa were all brought in by Lovie to run a Cover 2 scheme.
So why I ask are we not using personnel properly.
