Re: Defensive line coach quits
That really concerns me. I've never heard of such a thing. I would love to know how all that went down. Why did the guy agree to come onboard while he still had another pan in the fire. And what does that say about the loyalty of the other assistants in wanting to stay with Linehan? I don't know.

Re: Defensive line coach quits
i wouldn't read that much into it. he probably would rahter be be a defensive coordinator than a line coach. not to mention it's USC. the offer probably didn't come up until after he had signed on with the rams.

Re: Defensive line coach quits
Good question, but I'm not too concerned about it because he has a coaching history with Pete Carroll at USC and once even called him the best coach in all of football. I can understand taking the promotion to help his career, but why sign on in the first place if you're not going to commit? Oh well and good riddance; at least it's a good sign that Linehan has been getting quality coaches. And what does that say about the loyalty of the other assistants in wanting to stay with Linehan?

Re: Defensive line coach quits
I wouldn't worry about this all that much. Why wouldn't someone want to take over USC's defense as the head guy? They are stocked.

LOL, tony S.. If the rubbers want him the dude must be some coach. We'll see his name come up again. Maybe the next time we need a head coach.

Re: Defensive line coach quits
I'm wondering what he was quoted as saying after landing the SC job?"It's a bittersweet deal," says Holt. "I feel good about what we've accomplished but an opportunity like this doesn't come around often. Scott (Linehan)'s an excellent coach and a close friend. I'll have a chance to move up in the organization. I've always had an itch to be an NFL coach."
