Re: Demoffs Tweet
yea, blue and yellow are the best
but blue and white are a nice consolation at this point, it does have some intimidation to it imo

Re: Demoffs Tweet
I do like the old 65-72 white and blue, but royal blue and yellow is coolest to me.
Please no never go back to the gold and dark blue again.

Re: Demoffs Tweet
There are more than enough teams with blue and white jerseys currently in the league. I wouldn't mind going back to the '99 uniforms though.

Re: Demoffs Tweet
I think we should be dark red, we'll match the seats in the stadium.

Re: Demoffs Tweet
When talking about NFL 'throwbacks', I believe another factor is to be taken into consideration besides the chronological aspect, namely the geographical situation. IMHO, a good portion of fans relate to -- or are unable to relate to -- their team based on where that organization was based when their parents or grandparents were also diehard fans.
Teams that as of recent have gone retro maintain that geographical status, their fans are "locals" per se; e.g., Atlanta, D.C., Dallas, Detroit, Green Bay, etc. Some of those teams were in the same city all along (or at least in the same area), ever since they were wearing leather helmets!
And that's were other teams, such as the Rams, are sometimes misplaced in terms of throwback uniforms, specifically, the Royal Blue & Victory White version. The Rams were in L.A. before 1995 so, again, many young fans -- I'd say the majority -- see and feel the team in St. Louis, not Los Angeles! We're talking about an emotional separation of 1,800 miles here, in addition to the 18 years of demonymic affiliation to St. Louis! ...Quite a detachment.
I lived in L.A. for a few years from the late 50s to '61. That's why I'm so biased regarding these Blue and White 1965-72 unis. I began "looking" into the Rams circa 1958 but did not 'officially' become a lifelong fan until '65, largely due to what were truly striking football uniforms to me that year, from those awesome blue and white helmets to the black cleats.
Simple, elegant, clean. The helmet was the most attractive part of course, but the overall combination was just terrific, so neat, moreso at home.

I hope I'll be able to see this Rams uniform on the field again, even if the face masks must be different. BTW, the Bradford / Jax attachment below reflects my own touch-ups, a bit different from Rambos' picture.
Thanks for your patience. Clic on image below.Last edited by RealRam; -03-21-2013 at 09:25 PM. Reason: Images
