Draft Talk with Billy Devaney at J Buck's
Pretty sure this was the JBucks sit down TheRammer was talking about.
Really cool stuff, very interesting read. Loved his outlook on the old regime

Re: Devaney Unplugged
Well, since that's never gonna happen we gotta make do w/ what we got. One thing I have learned in the last 40 something years is you can be optimistic or pessimistic. I choose the former. I still say we have the best chance at becoming the 'Rams of old' since Carroll Rosenbloom ... and I've waited a long time.

Re: Devaney Unplugged
I, too, would love to see us select Ryan Mathews, but fear he'll be gone before we get back to him. Probably my favorite back in the class

Re: Devaney Unplugged
Don Banks makes a few references to Devaney's comments on SI. Devaney come across very wellfrom what I've read here and elsewhere.
It's nice to have some credible hope, it's been a while since we've had that.

Hi Dwight,
Right there with you and agree 100% !!! Exciting stuff, nowhere to go but up and looks like right people to FINALLY aid in mving this franchise out of the duldrums.
Javed Best is going to be a great role playing running back in the NFL. Love to see him in the Blue and gold.......

Re: Devaney Unplugged
I will assume these Tucker and BBRams guys are legit. That being said, even if Devaney were sitting in my office right now telling me the exact same words I just read, I still wouldn't trust it as far as I could throw it.
Not saying Devaney is a dishonest man, at least no more dishonest than a top notch poker player.
Think about it. By telling the truth right now, Devaney (and the Rams) gains...............nothing.
By telling the truth right now, Devaney (and the Rams) loses..........the following:
1. leverage with the agent of whomever they declare to select.
2. leverage with any team considering trading up for a different player.
Those are two huge losses, if Devaney were to tell the truth. It's poker guys. He's going to say all kinds of stuff just to keep the other franchises and agents guessing.
It's a great read, and I enjoyed it. But.....grain of salt, folks; grain of salt."Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod

Re: Devaney Unplugged
Definitely have to be suspicious about the level of "openness" on display. Not suspicious of Tucker and BBRams, but suspicious about how honest Devaney is being and how much of it is smoke that he knows is going to get back to the 'net. Still, an interesting read.
