Dez, please tell us your history as a Rams fan
Dez, thanks from all of us for facilitating and sponsoring the Clan on this great new board.
Rumours and innuendo abound regarding your history as a rams fan. Could you please provide those of us who are unaware of your roots with a brief bio. Are you originally from Scotland? Are you really a former british open golf champion?
Thanks again for enabling all of us to share our views and analysis of the Rams.

Re: Dez, please tell us your history as a Rams fan
Here's the way I heard it:
A LONG TIME
AGO IN A GALAXY
FAR, FAR AWAY...
Oh wait, that's another story altogether. Let me dig a little more, as I'm sure Dez's lawyers are counseling him even as we post to keep mum about this whole "history" thing, lest The Evil Backsiders find some toehold against him.
Re: Dez, please tell us your history as a Rams fan
Many, many years ago, Dez was a young lad in a humble Shire just North of Ben Nevis. After reaching the appropriate age, he was initiated into his Clan's rites of manhood. Soon thereafter, a battle came to his lands. In battle, Dez fought bravely but was struck down by a massive black clad warrior who appeared to be from another land. However, while the wound appeared to be surely mortal, he did not die. His superstitious Clansmen, fearing this was the product of witchcraft or some other black magic, drove him from his lands and into exile. There, he met a strange horseman with a Spanish name, claiming to be from Egypt. This stranger explained that, in a way, they were "brothers"...
Wait...
That's Highlander.
What is Dez's story?
Re: Dez, please tell us your history as a Rams fan
Someone told me that he was cloned, like in the movie sleeper. This would account for his immortality. I also heard that he was instrumental at Yalta.

OK, I've found it now...
In the late 20th century, Scotland's web king has died, and left no heir. Ruthless webmaster King Backsider I seizes the throne, thus demanding the allegiance of the unwilling Scots. Dez, whose ClanRam is attacked in retaliation for his opposition to the King, vows to avenge the usurption by leading his ragged army of fellow Scots against overwhelming odds and a powerful Backsiders army.
His courageous group of volunteers is outnumbered and poorly equipped, but their devotion to their cause attracts the attention of nobleman Dod the Ram. Dod and other Scottish nobles are wary of fighting against Backsider, since they have been allowed to keep their premium membership; it takes the continued determination of Dez and his growing number of men to slowly gain their support.
Backsider's daughter-in-law, Princess Moira, is duped into delivering a message to Dez for a peaceful surrender; meanwhile, he has already ordered troops to trap the unsuspecting Scots. Horrified that she has been tricked, the Princess sends her servant to alarm Dez. Unsatisfied in her marriage and attracted to Dez's noble cause, she becomes his lover and ally. Dez is eventually captured and mercilessly quartered, leaving his men without a leader. The army gathers to surrender to the English. Guilt-stricken and tormented, Dod the Ram vows not to let Dez die in vain, and leads the heroic Scots into the final battle that wins their freedom from the Evil Backsider Horde.
The Dez we know now is a kindly ghost, flitting back and forth across the mists of the Internet, lending HTML help to the poor, and aiding the enemies of King Backsider in all their endeavo(u)rs.
At least that's how I remember it.

Avenger, pending Dez's response and given the various theories being bandied about, i suggest you post one of your creative polls regarding the origin of Dez as a rams fan and spiritual leader to the Clan.
I heard he was involved in the original identification of the Loch Ness Monster.

Re: Dez, please tell us your history as a Rams fan
Is our Dez the same Dez as the studly well endowed character in the movie Desparetely Seeking Susan starring Madonna? Rumour has it that after every Rams score Dez can be seen rocking to the tune "Get into the Groove"
