did anyone else see jackson hobbling off the field?

Can someone please explain to me what jackson is doing in the game with 3 minutes left and us down 35-6? The injury didnt look serious, looked like a little twist of the ankle, but i have been making this point all year and its just absolutely stupid to have him in the game at that point. Without jackson we are a legitimate 0-16 team and we have a very winnable game next vs detroit.

Let hope its not serious. Its just stupid coaching.

Makes one wonder of the Coach/Coordinators NFL IQ of this team! No reason for JAX to be in the game at that point and time. JAX (23/134 yds) Wasted effort! JAX gets RAMS in REDZONE and for some reason Darby is inserted and Rams go 3 & out! Its just not smart football!!! IF JAX can't go next week, Heads should ROLL!!!!!

I don't know about you guys, but when I played in High school, I wasn't coming off the field for anything. winning or losing, I was on the field. Steven Jackson wanted to stay on, so he did. I would be worried if he didn't want to go back in. You guys are looking at this wrong. It looks like Steven is the only guy on the team that is giving it his all, and I for one am happy that he wanted to go back in.

I think you are missing the point as to why he is happy.

Jackson could go down on the first offensive play from scrimmage. There are some that would argue that the Rams were going to lose this game no matter what. Hell, even bulger had a defeatist attitude going in, by saying it would take a perfect game to win.

Along those lines perhaps Jackson should not suit up? Or maybe they should have sat Jackson at halftime, since the game was effectively over then?

I thought I was the only one who felt that Bulger went into this game with a defeatist attitude!

NFL players are competitors, so they always want to be on the field. Jack Youngblood stayed in the game when it became apparent that the Rams would lose Super Bowl XIV. How would he , or any player for that matter, be remembered if they removed themselves from games to save themselves from injury? Injuries can happen at any time of the game. I agree that the coaching staff should have removed Jackson, but you can't blame him for going in if he's not told otherwise.

to save him for the regular season,so why go out and take a chance of him getting hurt at that point in a blowout game when you need him next week to have any chance of winning. how does this make the team better ?

I understand your point and it makes sense,but real fans such as the guys on this site know that Jackson is all about fighting to the end,we all know his heart is into it and he wants to do whatever it takes,but sometimes common sense has to take over and I think most fans would realize that,but I could be wrong.
