It's called being one dimensional. Stack the box with defenders to stop the run, while making a group of young, inexperienced receivers beat you. Jackson takes a lot of hits. Everyone knows he's the feature of this offense, so defenses tighten up in the red zone, causing a switch to an anemic passing game. Those 100 yard passing games should loosen up the passing lanes. But, since the Rams can't seem to get the passing game going, stopping Jackson stops the Rams. This equals no points.

As head coach, you have to step up and be smart. Who cares if he wants to play. We can't risk having him injured when the game is a complete blow out.
This is exactly what I think everyone is trying to say here. The decision to sit Jackson in a blow out rests with the coaching staff, not Jackson. Besides saving Jackson from injury, I think it would be smart to begin giving some of this inexperienced depth some game experience.

If I were a coach, I would expect Jackson to protest, but putting scrubs in when your team is way ahead or way behind is a practice all players should be used to because it is something that has been done since they played middle school ball. In the end, they should understand.

Im all for resting players when we are blowing a team out

But there is no way in hell im going to take players out when we are getting blown out. We need our best players for a fightback, no matter how unfeasible it is

Jackson had a 100+ day didn't he? And he hobbled off the field. Looks like someone may be out for a few games.
