Did Bulger's Words mean anything?
Did Bulger's words really mean anything to the team, or did we just play 3 teams that just weren't that good?
I think his words meant a lot to everyone (I hope everyone!) in regard to just putting your all on the field. Did we play the most spectacular teams? No, but those wins regardless must have meant something to this team. I really hope and think this positiveness will go throughout the off-season and hopefully continue through next season...

Re: Did Bulger's Words mean anything?
I voted yes, but Marc's speech had little or nothing to do with the three wins.
Anytime a teammate, especially the leader of your offense, says that some players aren't giving it their all, I would hope the guys listened. ...and I sure it meant something to his teammates, for sure. But I doubt that it had anything to do with winning the final three. I didn't hurt, but it didn't make the difference. We played a Viking's team in the finale that started a rookie at QB, and a team that had cashed it in. We lucked out against the Skins when we forced a fumble after they got into field goal territory which should have won the game for them. We started the three-game streak by beating the horrific Raiders. My gawd, a loss there and I would have been slitting my wrist.... I know a few high schools that have a better offense than they do.Faithful Rams fan since 1968

Re: Did Bulger's Words mean anything?
I do think Bulger's statements meant something, and I also think he helped to pull the team together. As far as helping the team pick it up and win the last 3 games, I've got to beleive what he said had an impact and put everyone on notice that the lack of effort was not acceptable. Remember, at the time he spoke up, there were serious questions about even beating the Faiders, let alone winning any more games. The fact that his teammates responded in a positive, productive way bodes well for the future IMO.

Re: Did Bulger's Words mean anything?
The Vikes were on pace to pass up the 2000 Ravens as the best running defense ever and we completely embarrassed them on thier home feild. That is impressive no matter how you spin it.
The Skins game was really close, and if Betts learned how to carry the ball we prob would have lost, but there was nothing "Lucky" about that strip by Atogwe, which was heads up and easily the best play he made all year.

Re: Did Bulger's Words mean anything?
I voted yes. It meant to me that Bulger was on board with HC Linehan and his system. Also let it be known that he was in fact the leader of this team.

Re: Did Bulger's Words mean anything?
I voted yes,it certainly didn't do any harm and signalled an up-turn in effort and performance from those dire games against Arizona and Carolina..Yeah we didn't beat any elite teams but as I mentioned those 2 embarassing performances came against teams that had poor season's as well..Hopefully the feel-good factor from our mini revival will continue into next year, and give us a positive base to build upon..:l

I voted yes. I think Bulger wanted to show that he really is committed to the team.

Re: Did Bulger's Words mean anything?
i voted yes but im not so sure it did to whom i believe to be the major target of marc`s frustration, alex barron!
i want to give barron the benefit of the doubt and say he`s trying too hard and thats why he gives too many penalties away in particular false starts but ive given Kennedy the same benefit of the doubt thinking that next year will be his and now all i want fat jimmy to do is ship his butt out to oakland!

Yes. Absolutely!
The leadership, the need, and the timing of his comment were all fulfilled.

Re: Did Bulger's Words mean anything?
i think they did
you could see the OL in the later part of the season were afraid to give up sacks or make mistakes. Barron false started and then turned around to Bulger straight away. Bulger's stare could have killed him, it was that intense. Barron immediately looked elsewhere.

Re: Did Bulger's Words mean anything?
I voted yes, as well. I believe that when a quiet leader becomes so outspoken then it makes others pay attention. While some questioned it, I think that it was a good thing. The team pciked things up and it put Barron on notice.
