Did Laurinatis make the wrong call?

Laurinatis is normally very reliable and he is part of the solution not the problem. Not that it really matters but I wondered if he made the wrong call by switching to the cover 2 when we got no pressure on Hill and the he threw to the TE for the TD.

    Does it really matter?

    People make mistakes.

    James is still young.

I wouldn't blame Laurinaitis. I would blame the rest of our defense for failing to cover anyone today.

Re: Did Laurinatis make the wrong call?

I agree I am not blaming Laurinatis for todays effort and he is one of the most reliable and consistent players we have. In fact he is one of my favorities on the team (see my avatar). With all that said I sill wonder if he made the wrong call by switching the D scheme. The QB had all the time in the world to throw and finally found the TE. It could have been a TD and still been the right call I was just asking the question and wondering if the pressure did not even get to him a little today. He is one guy that is normally solid as a rock.

Re: Did Laurinatis make the wrong call?

The coverage wasn't the issue, the issue was the amount of time Hill had. No one can cover a guy for that long.

What happened to our exotic blitz packages? Did Spags give up on them figuring the front four could do it on their own? I saw a lot less blitzing than in the past, but maybe I am wrong.

Unless Laurinaitis changed the play to one that called for the Rams to get no pressure, then the responsibility for not getting pressure probably falls on other plays.
