Did we make the right move?

We could have drafted Jay Cutler QB who is now starting for the Bronco's. Instead we made a deal with Denver that allowed them to pick Cutler and we drafted Tye Hill.

I pose this question based on how horrible Frerotte was in 2007 and the inability to keep Bulger healthy.

We could even extend this argument to just Hill and his position. It looks like Cromartie was the better choice to begin with.

However, Cutler is still somewhat erratic but time will tell.

Well, to be precise, we obtained Tye Hill and Claude Wroten for the Cutler pick. Wroten hasn't worked out, but at the time it was considered a good pick.

At this point, I'm not so impressed with Cutler that I would regret the trade. Hill is a very solid player. On a team with a good pass rush, he might be a Pro Bowl player.

What if? You can play this game all day and still wonder if the decision was the right one. Bulger was a Pro Bowl QB last year. Enough said. Why would the team even entertain drafting a QB in the 1st round, when it had pressing needs all over the field. Time to let it go and focus on getting the best player, who will make an impact right away, in the up comming draft.

Cutler is good but I have no regets yet. Give it more time, if Wroten is a bust and Hill is just Avg. then you might say it was. I don't like the idea of trading back for more picks, I would take the blue chipper a guy like Darren McFadden over an extra pick.

Yeah I think it was the right move, as I don't believe there was any real intention in picking Cutler with our original pick anyway. Tye Hill is what we needed, and we got him, along with...well, another pick.

It I remember correctly, Cormartie was coming off a season long injury, and that's why he was picked later?

At the time, we made the right move. We desperately needed defensive help and Hill fit the bill. Cutler? He looked horrible at the end of the season and seemed to have lost his confidence, especially agaist the Chargers. It will be interesting to see if he can pull himself together.

I don't have any regrets about trading off Jay Cutler. I mean Bulger still has time, I'm sure we can get another QB stud down the road.
