Didn't take Andeson long to find a new home
Panthers claim Dwight Anderson off waivers from Rams
The Associated Press
August 10. 2005
The Carolina Panthers claimed second-year cornerback Dwight Anderson off waivers from the St. Louis Rams on Wednesday.
A second-year player out of South Dakota, Anderson played in 12 games last season for the Rams and had 10 special teams tackles, tied for fifth on the team.
He was competing for the team's nickel back spot during training camp before being released Monday for curfew violations.
To make room on the roster, the team released cornerback Shannon Fitzhugh.
The Panthers also are likely to sign tight end Chad Mustard on Thursday, said general manager Marty Hurney. Mustard was most recently with the Cleveland Browns.
