Re: Do the Rams?
Good question. Those around here that portray to have some kind of inside knowledge say the Rams will promote from within.

Re: Do the Rams?
He probably won't come, but I wouldn't mind getting Lovie Smith back. He made the GSOT defense respectable. It will be interesting to learn when the league will decide on the future of Gregg Williams.
Go Rams!

Re: Do the Rams?
Well his uncle was a very good DC for the Rams.
I'm also wondering about when the league will decide on Williams. If Fisher wanted to go outside and make a hire waiting on the decision could hinder that. Of course it's not an issue if Fisher plans to promote from within.

Re: Do the Rams?
Does anyone have any idea when the league will make a decision on reinstating Williams?

Re: Do the Rams?
Never cared for Lovie's defenses. Too soft. Even with great backers.
Patient, not saintly.

Re: Do the Rams?
They're similar in that they both feature a four man front with three linebackers, but after that, there are some pretty big differences in their respective schemes.
As for the original question, unless there's someone out there who Fisher has a previous connection with that suddenly is looking for a job, I think they'll either maintain what they did in 2012 or promote someone already on the staff.

Re: Do the Rams?
Hey whats going on Nick, where you been at bro? It's been a while!

As to our scheme compared to what Lovie runs they both are a Cover 2 defense, obviously they aren't the exact same with different folds but what we are mostly using on D is classified as a modified Cover 2.
As a matter of fact I heard James L. talking about it the other day let me find it.

Re: Do the Rams?
No. I like Lovie, but our scheme does not fit. Rams need continuity, anyway.
Reid? Offense. Turner? Offense. Shurmer? Offense. Whisenhunt? Offense. Gailey? Offense.
Crennel? Let him run back to Belichick like Josh did.

Re: Do the Rams?
Let's hope Gregg Williams will be back after the Super Bowl. Although he'll be on a short leash if reinstated, making edgy hits prone to flags thrown against us.
