Do We Have The Talent @ WR?
Last night Faulk was adamant when he said "someone got to win" while referring the wr position.
Do we have what it's going to take at this position to give Sam viable weapons?
Why can't these guys get open on a consistent basis?
Are they too young?
Not talented enough?
Poorly coached?
What exactly is the problem?
Do we have the players or did we really miss out by not signing an established veteran to compliment the young guys?

Re: Do We Have The Talent @ WR?
Quick and Givens are too young, Amendola is good but the rest of the group is just not talented enough.
There's a reason Fisher slammed his glasses in frustration when the Jag's stole Blackmon from us. Without a legit #1 receiver our offense will struggle again this year. I think next year we take the best wide receiver available. I don't see us being much more than a 5 or 6 win team(if that) so hopefully we can snag Robert Woods.

Re: Do We Have The Talent @ WR?
Smith is no #1, but he's not chopped liver.
All things loop back to Line play. Please note the Clemons' sack.
....No please don't.Patient, not saintly.

If talent means getting open, making tough catches, and helping out your QB, I don't really see it yet, unless your name is Amendola.

Re: Do We Have The Talent @ WR?
And the problem is, as soon as we get into the green zone, Danny Boy gets double teamed. I think we have some talent, but those that do are too inexperienced as it stands right now.

Re: Do We Have The Talent @ WR?
My take is that it's 2 parts youth 1 part talent at this point. Salas, Kendricks and Pettis are only in their second year and we have two rookies. I think Smith and Amendola will be fine once the season starts.

Re: Do We Have The Talent @ WR?
I think there is enough at wide receiver as long as Bradford has a strong run game from Jackson and solid O line play

With the type of offense the Rams will run this year, they are fine at WR.

Way too early to tell on 4 out of their 6 WRs. A WR needs 3 years to develop usually, it takes time.

Re: Do We Have The Talent @ WR?
Compared to the competition, the Rams are a little behind the eight ball at the present time at wide receiver. But I don't think it should be cause for concern. This group was bound to be a work in progress, coming into this season. Potentially Sam Bradford will have a good group to work with, as the season moves along. Eveything regarding the future is quite simply, mythical. As no one knows for sure.?
The bigger question marks for me are Bradford's pocket presence, and the play of our O-Line. Sam needs to to find a better way of buying time for himself. Maybe throwing the ball away before he gets swamped would be a good place to start, until he finally gets his mobility back, and get's this damn pocket awareness down. We'll see.??

Re: Do We Have The Talent @ WR?
Looking strictly at Saturday night, this pass offense never stood a chance. It was yet another mixed line giving very little protection time to let the play develop. The 'boys D knew with apparent 100% certainty when each play was run or pass. And giving them their due, Brandon Carr and Morris Claiborne are excellent cover corners.
I think there's some talent there, but on the outsides it's very young. Amendola is as good as it gets in the slot, but there's got to be more from the outside. Maybe some combination of Salas, Pettis, Quick and Givens can supply it.......hopefully."Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod

Re: Do We Have The Talent @ WR?
We are going to find out when the real games start. Right now, things are looking pretty scary. One thing I did not realize (vs the Pokes) was that Harvey Dahl was out. Scott Wells was playing his first game for us as well. It will be interesting to see if our line play improves against the Ravens.
Do we have what it's going to take at this position to give Sam viable weapons?
Yes !!! We have 2 first round picks in both 2013 and 2014.
That's not what you wanted to hear though, right?
As for now, the answer would appear to be no .. That said, 3 or 4 games into the regular season, things could change for the better. We certainly can't be accused of being "dominant" on either side of the ball so far ..
Why can't these guys get open on a consistent basis?
Fair question, I have no answer either .. One thing that would help in that area would be improved officiating regarding contact after 5 yards from the LOS.
Are they too young?
Yes they are young and inexperienced - again, 3 or 4 games into the regular season should give us a clearer picture. Granted we might not like that clarified picture ..
Not talented enough?
After final cutdown we need to see our starting receivers play entire games that count to answer that one. It is still too early IMO, though clearly there is ample cause for concern given what we've witnessed to date.
Poorly coached?
My guess is no - youth and inexperience abound.
What exactly is the problem?
Anyone having Jeff's & Snead's emails, please post them ..
Do we have the players or did we really miss out by not signing an established veteran to compliment the young guys?
It's not too late for us there, T.O. is now available ..
Would it have been better to pass on the Finnegan expenditure and spend it on a receiver? I guess we will find out one way or another in the very near future ..
