Does anyone on the board shoot their own turkey?

Just wondering whether we have any hunters in the group that shoot their own bird. I am sure there are many in the group that consume mass quatities of liquid wild turkey bourbon from time to time.

Jason, if you change your mind and decide to go hunting in the next few days, please avoid doing so in the woods in wisconsin. It is going to be very, very scary out there for a while and we all care too much about you to take any chances. Besides, you are well known for climbing trees and into various turkey/deer stands.

    *LOL*

I knew someone would bring that up with me!

I used to hunt about 30 miles south of the area. There are some real red-necks in these parts ;-)

There are some weird things happening in the hunting world these days. I'll stick with the bourbon.

Are you kidding me? I can't even pick out a live lobster in a lobster tank and have them cook it for me in a restaurant. If the meat is done dead then fry, barbeque, bake or broil it, but I can't look at them in the eyes one minute and be dipping into the A-1 the next. LOL

Re: Does anyone on the board shoot their own turkey?

As stated earlier, around these parts you have to worry more about getting shot yourself then shooting your own turkey.

As RamWraith knows too many hunters hit the pubs before they go out and anything can happen. Haven't gone hunting in years because to many "accidents" happen in them there woods.

It's a turkey shoot (pun intended) it's like going snowmobiling. With all the riders getting boozed up before they go out, it makes it a dangerous place.

We do. The problem is, in these parts, the women shoot back.

You are asking for trouble adarian. Just asking.....

We had a little lesson in life and death this Thanksgiving as my dogs knocked over the guinea pig's cage, and chased down poor little Stripes and killed him in front of my brother's 4 year girl. She gave us the reporter's style account of Stripes last seconds, and some of the kids cried for a while, and then started asking if they could get a lizard.

Gotta love kids and their ability to move on. We did point out that we were eating turkey just like the turkey that run wild in the woods. They didn't mind. Pass that turkey please.

We never made it to the pet store, so no pet lizard yet, but I am betting they will have a little lizard in under two weeks. The parents are weak and the children are many. It's 5 against 2. They will win.
