Does homefield matter this weekend?
I really don't think it makes much of a difference in this particular game. If we come out and play like we know how to play the Seahawks cannot compete. What do you think?

Re: Does homefield matter this weekend?
As is often the case with my bias, I believe we have a greater momentum factor right now.
We have a greater cause of "family name" if you will. Our drama was more intense than the Seahawks; we were more criticized, more hurt (not necessarily physically).
Final analysis, it is more emotional/meaningful for us. Playoffs: GO RAMS!
Let's see if the we make any and all 'IFS' happen.

It's just a gut feeling I have that we have a great shot at beating the Seahawks. My gut has been pretty good all year LOL

Re: Does homefield matter this weekend?
I am a little concerned about the fact that the c chicks have possibly more motivation to beat us with that comeback victory on their turf. They have been victimized by that defeat repeatedly by the media.
If everyone plays like Bryce Fisher did today then I really like our chances

Let's be real. It does matter. It matters a lot.
But, after what the Rams did in Seattle last time and after what happened today, I'm not counting them out by a long shot.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Re: Does homefield matter this weekend?
Yes, I think home field matters, especially for the Rams. Does that mean I think they'll lose in Seattle? No, but they weren't exactly dominant the last time they were up there. Let's face it, the Seahawks had that game locked up until the fourth quarter. The Rams really pulled on out of their behinds up there, but I hope beyond hope that no one overestimates the two-game sweep of the Seahawks. This is going to be a hard fought match, and we need to be as ready as ever. I'm glad to see that the Rams came to play against a tough Jets team and walked out with a win. If it had been a weaker opponent or a game like we played against the Eagles, I wouldn't feel as good. But we beat a good Jets team that still had something to play for. I like our chances after today's win.

Re: Does homefield matter this weekend?
I don't think homefield matters that much to the Seahawks. Homefield would have been huge for the Rams though.
I don't feel real comfortable about this game. Bulger's record on the road is a little worrisome. He does not play as well on the road.
that being said, if the defense plays the way it did today, I like our chances. with the exception of Archuleta's dropped INT, the defense was pretty solid today ( except for the rushing D ). but they didn't break in the red zone. that is a huge improvement.

As you said, clearly he isn't as good on the road as he is at home. Marc Bulger will take a big step toward cementing himself as a team leader if he can play well at Seattle and help bring this team a first round win.

Re: Does homefield matter this weekend?
The Rams are a vastly different team on the road. You guys should know this. For whatever reason Bulger always has all day in the pocket when at home in the dome and the wr's are constantly open all the time. Take them outta that setting and things change a lot.

Re: Does homefield matter this weekend?
Nothing new - Home Dome would be a big edge!
With that said, I think Jackson will be more effective on the Seattle turf. If he and Marshall can gain some ground, then Bulger and Co. should do OK.
I like the chances for a big V in Seattle.

Re: Does homefield matter this weekend?
You guys are forgetting the most important part.
THE TURF
That's right, they have a more forgiving turf to play on. One that is less likely to injure the knees of our players.
Besides; the officials have never allowed the home crowd to affect their "judgement" the way their "judgement" is affected by the home field on away games.

Re: Does homefield matter this weekend?
In the playoffs, home field means nothing.
Ask Carolina and Philadelphia.

TX-
you are forgetting one thing.
those teams had good defenses to help make up for any slip in offensive production on the road.
the Rams do not. there's a big difference.
