Does the jets loss sting even more???
Now that the jets are not even putting up a fight in tonight's game against the patriots...The jets have had an average of 3 turnovers the last 7 games including 4 turnovers in the 1st half of this game. We could no muster 1 turnover at all last week!
Either the jets played one hell of a game last week and were flawles in execution 2nd quarter on or the rams have not made as much progress as we think or anticipated up to this point..

Re: Does the jets loss sting even more???
Watching this game is like an extra slap in the face. The Jets are back to looking horrible, after schooling the Rams.

Re: Does the jets loss sting even more???
The answer to this question is: we are NOT as good as everyone wanted to believe. We are extremely young & we have A LOT of holes on this team.
Again let me reiterate: 4-11-1

Re: Does the jets loss sting even more???
No really.
Most of us know that there are too many variables within any given game to be able to accurately compare one game to another.
Injuries, officiating, weather conditions, turnovers are the more obvious.
As most of you recall we could realistically have 3 more W's if not for blown opportunities. Then there would be a whole different attitude here, but it would still be the same cast of players.
Are we as bad as our score vs the Jets, or as good as or game vs the whiners? Somewhere in between, as we are still finding our way with a new head coach and an arguably underachieving WR corps.
We have a team that is good enough to cause our upcoming opponents to be wary and not look past us, but have not quite turned the corner yet on our way to being a contender.
Are we tired of waiting? Of course we are, but there are 6 games left with which to engender a positive outlook for next season and a somewhat of a chance at finishing as high as 2nd place in the division.RnD
GO RAMS!!

Re: Does the jets loss sting even more???
It's a long season. Most picked the Rams to win 4 or 5 games. That's looking to be the case. That means you likely will lose some games to lousy teams that are alot like you. The Rams are no more a playoff contender than they are a contender for the first overall pick. Yes, they're better than last season but still a pretty bad team. Nobody should get too high or low over any win or loss. The thread where 30 out of 32 Rams fans picked the Rams to be a playoff team next year after the tie with the ***** was a classic case of getting unreasonbly high over a sub .500 team. If expectations were more reasonably tempered about a team in complete rebuild mode then the Jets getting blown out by halftime 4 days after blowing the Rams out at home would be taken more in stride.

Re: Does the jets loss sting even more???
Not at all.
We have wins over the Skins, Hawks, and Cards. By this same "6 degrees of separation" logic, that's wins over the Vikes, Cowboys, Saints, Bucs, Packers, Patriots, Dolphins, etc.
Ultimately, in this league, teams just can't be compared week to week. Any. Given. Sunday."Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod

Re: Does the jets loss sting even more???
The Jets convinced me they weren't that bad of a team. What's shocking is how good this shows the cheatriots to be. Scary good.
What a difference disciplined, well coached athletes make. The Pat's have the same dilemma the '99-01 Rams had, their toy is so fun to play with they can't turn it off.
The clock is ticking on that karma thing.Patient, not saintly.

Re: Does the jets loss sting even more???
I saved myself the pain by not watching this game. I had a strong feeling the Jets would give the Rams a hard time and then lay an egg against NE. Oh well, like to see Rams bounce back against the Cards to give us some hope
