Does this mean that Justin King is out a job?
Cuz Gordy played an amazing game today and it seems like that is what was missing.

For a team decimated by injury to our secondary. We pretty much stopped Brees passing attack all game. What does that say about the current dbs now?

Re: Does this mean that Justin King is out a job?
It says that a good pass rush is a secondary's best friend.
The Rams came into this game with 11 sacks through six games, an average of less than two per game.
Today, they brought Brees down six times. He was forced from the pocket numerous times and could not get comfortable.
I agree that the secondary did play better, but not allowing Brees to stand in the pocket and find a rhythm certainly helped. We haven't seen this kind of ferocity all year in terms of getting after the QB.

Re: Does this mean that Justin King is out a job?
The problem with King is he is so often out of positions. There are times where he's like 10 yards from a dude, in the slot. I've never seen a cb out of position so often.
Let's face it he's just not a good corner. Would a better pass rush of helped him? Certainly but he still would of been awful. It's obvious we need to upgrade before next year because who knows if Fletcher and Bartell will ever be back.

Re: Does this mean that Justin King is out a job?
What is says is, when you're in the QB's face all day he'll make mistakes.
What it says is, when you consistently hurry and get in the head of even the most elite QBs, it'll make your backup DBs look like HOF'ers.
What it ultimately says is, Long and Quinn played an outstanding game today.

Out of a job completely? Not with all the injuries. Out of a starting job? I dont see how he will be starting with the solid play of the secondary without him today.

Re: Does this mean that Justin King is out a job?
Cut him immediately,Gordy played great and lets not give all the credit to the line the secondary did a very good job all game. Not only did he play good in coverage he made a "play" on the ball with his pick.He seems like he understands what hes doing i like him for now....but this just shows when our pass rush is working our defense can do some special things. And thats not exactly a weak o line we went against and we should what we got.Good win lets take this momentum to next week and crush the Cardinals!!!! GO RAMS!!!

Re: Does this mean that Justin King is out a job?
Head over to Stlouisrams.com and watch the highlights.. on Quinn sack we rushed three and on Long we rushed four. when you can drop everyone into coverage and get sacks and pressure with four and stay in a cover two it's easy. That being said they played well i will say that, they made plays and tackled well.
This was the first time I noticed Long, Quinn and Hall playing a lot at the same time.... Quinn and Hall lining up at DT.
