Doing it my way
A father gives his kid a car. It’s a nice car and he tells him to be safe, smart, and take care of it. Even though the car runs real good it needs a new carburetor to be in perfect running condition so he tells the kid to go and buy a new carburetor.
He brings back a stereo.
DAD: “when the car starts sputtering you’re going to regret buying that stereo. You already have the best stereo on the market in your car, you need a carburetor and you bring back a stereo that you cannot even use and even if you do use it, it will never be worth what you paid for it.”
KID: “Who cares about all that, look at how fast the strobe light on the face plate goes, who cares about a carburetor I can get by without it, I will just play the stereo louder to make up for the carburetor.”
A Few weeks later:
KID: “Dad I need a new rear end in the car you gave me.“
DAD: “What happened?“
KID: “I drove around on a low tire for a few days. Then it went flat and after driving around more the rear end finally scattered.”
DAD: “Why didn’t you put air in the tire when it was low?” Dad continues “Everyone knows that you don’t drive around on a flat tire.”
KID: “That’s not the way I do things, just because other people do it that way doesn’t mean I have to”.
A few months later
KID: “While I was headed to the movies, I merged onto the freeway to get into the fast lane and there were 8 or 9 cars in the lane I wanted to be in. I tried to wait for the first two cars but I wanted to go to the movies in that lane. When I got in that lane 6 cars ran off the road and everyone says it is my fault, they say I am stubborn and the police said I am egotistical. They say it is my fault the wreck happened. They say I should have stayed in the middle lane until the fast lane was clear. They don’t understand the way I do things. I looked at the situation and did what I thought would give me the best chance to get to the movies.“
DAD: “Don't you think it would have been a better idea to wait until there were no cars? “
KID: “No I am not second guessing myself, If I had to do it over I would not have waited at all I would have just gone straight for the fast lane. I don’t do things just because someone else thinks it is the right way.“
KID: “My car got scratched but shoot I’ll fix that.“Last edited by RamTime; -10-01-2004 at 11:32 AM. Reason: formating

I can't stand it, and can never understand anyone using sarcasm to make a point.

Question:
IF YOU DON'T WANT MARTZ TO DO HIS WAY, WHAT FRIGGIN WAY WOULD YOU WANT HIM TO USE?

I know Sinatra. And Martz is not Sinatra.

Martz has given us the best few years recently If we get rid of him we might go back to 4-12 seasons Just because we lose a couple of games everyone wants to change. His way has been good enough recently and will be good enough again. HAVE FAITH
How many of our core players would want to stay if martz leaves. I would guess not many.
Look what gruden is doing in tampa. they won the superbowl on the back of Tony dungy's defense now all the good players are leaving and they are going to struggle again

Okay, I know I forgot some, and I also know some were cap casualties. But we are losing players any ways. What happens if Martz stays, keeps doing his Rainman ways, and the team gives up?This space for rent...

Re: Doing it my way
What's up Terry, good to talk to you again. Going to the UT/Baylor game in the AM if it dosen't rain.
Anyway, here is how I take it. It's only me personally.
Warner-Team casualty <-- ??? IMHO He lost the team.
Green-Wanted to start. <-- Understand
Wistrom-Cap <-- I agree, but we miss him on D
Proehl-Cap <-- Don't agree. Wouldn't play for the minimum. That's all the Rams could afford.
Hodgins-Cap <-- Don't agree. Same as Proehl.
Fletcher-Cap <-- Agree (Plus was being a problem). Was the heart and soul of the defense. He is missed more than anyone, Warner included.
McCleon-Cap <-- Not sure, but I'll agree. Couldn't cover anyone. See KC this year.
Bly-Cap <-- I'll agree, but Martz Dog House may have had an effect. Broke the bank going to Detroit. Rams had no room for him under the cap.

Whoa Whoa. Hey everyone extinguish the torches and put the pitch forks back on the wall. Don’t be so thin skinned. This was not meant to prove a point. Nor was it meant to be sarcastic. Christ you know me by now. If I wanted to prove a point I wouldn't need to do it in a round about way. I just wanted to add an air of humor to the situation. Try to enjoy this season. Were not out of it and there still is every reason to believe that were going to be OK. We got the 9ers this weekend so we will be 2 - 2. Lighten up cause this thing will pass after a victory or two. If I didn't believe in the Rams or Martz I would have more then $5.00 to bet with. Think about it.

Now that's funny. Ramtime tries to be humorous and he ends up lighting a fire to a tinderbox!
