I find it funny that the Giants are ranked 22nd and the Jets 29th...

....as they play in the SAME STADIUM!!!

Re: The Dome Ranked Worst Stadium in NFL

Why is the quality of the team relevant to the ranking of the stadium?

Does that mean that the EJD was a great stadium from 1999-2001? Its the same building.

I've been to four current NFL stadiums: EJD, Dolphins Stadium, Raymond James (Tampa) and AllTel (Jacksonville). Each has its good and bad points. As a general rule, I prefer open air stadiums, but I'm not sure I'd feel that way in late December.

I have never been to the EJD personally. This year will be my first trip there.

However, it makes no sense as to why the Cardinals stadium is ranked 22nd. That is a lovely stadium! Very nice and well built. I see it every month or so when I drive up there.

Leave it up to the fans to vote for the best stadiums.

Re: The Dome Ranked Worst Stadium in NFL

The ranking is based on the total fan experience at the stadium, that's why ticket prices, tailgating, food quality & price, atmosphere, team quality, and accessability go into it...it's not ranking the actual building itself, but what kind of experience a fan can expect.

The lowlight of the Rams ranking was the fans answer to this question:

What is the worst incident you have witnessed against an opposing fan or yourself at the ballpark?

"Home fans are outnumbered, so opposing fans usually have a great time, not to mention their team is normally winning by 30 points. It's got to be the best place in the NFL to watch a road game."

"Are you kidding? This is the Rams we are talking about. No one cares. The only time they fill up more than half the stadium is when they play an opposing team with a large local fan base (see: Packers, Steelers). That said, one time I heard a guy yell 'Steelers suck' it was pretty intense."

"The last couple of years, so many visiting fans show up, they end up heckling the Rams fans."

I have never been to EJD, but I thought that it was pretty outdated. I thought that I had heard before that ownership has done very little as to upgrading the stadium.

Having been to many stadiums, as domes go, EJD is definitely the worst, but Candlestick and the Oakland Coliseum are so much worse than EJD for overall experience. I too prefer open stadiums no matter the weather.

Those were philly cheese steak calzones (inspiration came from my trip with AlphaRam and PA_gal_in_OK and a similar meal we had in Lynne's hometown...man was that good). I ate three of them. They were about 10"X8" and 3" thick. Crust top and bottom and filled with thinly sliced steak, cheese, peppers and onions. I'm still bound up from them!!

I think the EJD would move up a couple of spaces if it simply added Baked Ravioli to its snack bar menu.

That and I notice they didn't have those nacho stands like before that had the ground taco meat on them...the ones they served in the regular concessions were not as good.

Re: The Dome Ranked Worst Stadium in NFL

I've been to at least 7 nfl stadiums and whoever ranked this stuff has never been to the Raiders Colliseum. The Accessibility is no where near the #9 rank they give it. I mean c'mon... if you drive by car (and you probably will be because even Luke Skywalker wouldn't dare walk in that area), you absolutely must stick yourself into that bumper to bumper traffic before 11:00 a.m. if you expect to get into the game before the 1:15 kickoff. if you want to tailgate, its much sooner.

Plus, they still share the stadium with baseball, so there's a giant swath of infield (see: Dirt) for a playing field and the facilities are outdated as hell.

leave it to the raider nation fanatics to 'rose color' the true crappiness of their stadium... of the 7 stadiums i've been... Oakland was by far the worst, and I rank it that way without even factoring in the plethora of unruly profanity screaming fans. If you ever find yourself going to their stadium, be sure to wear black and have some anti-bacterial soap on hand.

Re: The Dome Ranked Worst Stadium in NFL

Funny you should say that KoaKoi...here's some more info that didn't make the cut for the original story. No shocker that the faiders came in last. Also went to the game in oakland 2 years ago with BRM and met r8h8rmike there and we all wore our Rams jerseys and had no problems. We also took the metro that dropped us off right next to the stadium...and probably 1/3 of the crowd it seems did the same...no traffic or parking problems that way.

But one interesting piece of information didn't make the final cut: We asked readers which NFL stadium they'd most like to visit, not including their hometown venue. It probably comes as little surprise Green Bay topped this table with 7.8 percent of the vote, but what about the next three buildings? Ralph Wilson Stadium, Lincoln Financial Field and FedEx Field -- notoriously frigid, hostile and cavernous venues, respectively -- hold down the next three spots. Here's the entire list.

    Packers: 7.8 percent
    Bills: 7.3
    Eagles: 6.7
    Redskins: 5.3
    Steelers: 5.1
    Patriots: 4.7
    Ravens: 4.2
    Bears: 3.8
    Vikings: 3.7
    Cowboys: 3.6
    Broncos: 3.5
    Giants: 3.4
    Panthers: 3.3
    Seahawks: 3.3
    Colts: 3.2
    Chiefs: 2.8
    Browns: 2.7
    Jags: 2.4
    Titans: 1.9
    Lions: 1.9
    Chargers: 1.8
    Bucs: 1.8
    Saints: 1.7
    *****: 1.7
    Rams: 1.7
    Falcons: 1.6
    Cardinals: 1.6
    Texans: 1.6
    Jets: 1.5
    Bengals: 1.4
    Dolphins: 1.2
    Raiders: 0.9

I blame RAMS FO for this.

The people that operate that stadium will ALWAYS put a commercial on the big screen before something the fans REALLY want to see; like replays or highlights of other games of interest.

They refuse to put a MASCOT on the field, even if the person offers to make the costume out of their own pocket, work for free, and they have MASCOT experience for other local teams.

I personally feel that if Cheerleaders were not an established part of the game, they wouldn't have them either. This team's management is all about making a buck, and LITTLE about fan appreciation.
