Donnie Avery! :-)
Kid looked impressive with the ball in his hands. Incredible burst of speed on the first screen. No idea why he was not on the field all day ...
Look at the highlights. He totally schooled the DB on the pass where Bulger was picked. Bulger throws that ball 50 yards downfield and Donnie runs under it for a TD. Watch the tape, as he made a pretty sick move ...
This kid would be putting up D. Jackson type numbers if he played for Philly, I have no doubt ...

Re: Donnie Avery! :-)
Exactly. And why would he be putting up numbers like D. Jackson if he played for Philly???
Because Philly has the line a QB can depend on to protect and a RB can depend on to open up lanes to run through.
We don't have that line.

Re: Donnie Avery! :-)
To be fair, our O-line did an OK job today of pass protection. They gave up only 1 sack to a unit that was #1 in sacks coming into today's game. Of course, the QB will get hit and get sacked a few times a game, but Marc looks tentative even when the line is blocking for him. At this point in time, I believe Trent Green gives us a better shot to win.

Don't you know anything about football? Rookie wide recievers can not contribute to the success of a team. Look at how much it's hurting the Eagles using Desean Jackson and the Broncos with Eddie Royal. We must continue to feed the ball to Dante Hall on hand offs and 5 yd hooks and "Go" routes with Dane Looker- it's the only way!!!

Re: Donnie Avery! :-)
Yes, it's so simple! You know the movie, "Heaven Can Wait"? It's about a football QB who is accidentally taken to heaven by an angel who didn't want to see him get hurt by getting hit by a bus. He actually would have been fine, but by the time the screw up has been found out, his body's already in the ground.
In any case, the movie ends with a QB actually getting killed in a game and so they put the shouldn't be dead QB into that guy's body!
The same thing will happen for us! Green will play, he'll get the stuffing sacked outta him, and the ghost of Brett Farve will come and save us all!
Wait... Farve's not dead? Someone hit him with a bus!

Re: Donnie Avery! :-)
I agree- we need to put Trent Green in the game. Bulger looked shaky yesterday underthrowing on bombs and overthrowing short passes to open receivers. He's not the old Bulger we have known for many years. I watched the whole game yesterday and the past 2 weeks- he's done. Bring in Green and he'll be better. Also, we should start Avery behind Holt.
