    Unhappy don't blame Martz

Well, where to begin. First, Martz didn't commit the 8 turnovers. Second, he didn't jump offsides with 2 minutes to play to seal the doom. How can a team be so utterly, utterly amazing in one half and look like the bad news bears in football gear the next? And we were stupid enough to have the false illusions of going undefeated, 19-0. I don't mean to speak for others, but it popped into my head a time or two. What was Warner doing today? Did he forget who he was supposed to throw to? And then when he was on target the receivers dropped the ball. And when he was on target and the receivers caught it, they soon fumbled it. I would much rather lose a game like we played against NYG than lose like we did today. As bad as they played, they would have won the game. There is no doubt in my mind that we were going to drive the field and either score a game-winning touchdown or at least a field goal to tie it up and send it to overtime where we would win.....if they just don't jump offsides. I would fine McCleon $1 million dollars...not for the mistake, but for being stupid. If he stays on side, NO kicks the field goal and we get the ball back for the game winning score...no doubt about it. It's a shame we have a game like this. NO deserves the credit for their comback and the Rams deserve exactly what they got-a loss. Martz can only call the plays, he can't throw it, catch it, hold onto it, or tackle. over and out jd

    Martz called great game.

We could of should of the whole second half. 8 total turnovers!!!
And still in shape to win.? Some really awsome defensive plays didn't go to waste but didn't help either. A perfect season did cross my mind but we went 6-0 and won it all. So we'll have to do it again.
Two weeks to heal and to stew about this one should get us ready to deal with the rest of our division.

    :upset: :mask: :mask:
Also I think it was Bly offsides and blocked the first one and again on the last one.

A perfect season !! Never crossed my mind.

I always thought we would loose a few games and I even said we would loose one to the aints. Its all well and good smacking for fun but true fans can look past these things.

What hurts on that loss yesterday, was the way in which we lost. We self destructed in the second half. This allowed a good team to take advantage of us. And they did. We should never forget that.

The Rams lost to a good team. Thats what makes this the NFL. Any team can win.

I still think we go 12 and 4 this year.

15-1 IS VERY POSSIBLE THIS YEAR AND RESPECTABLE, I MISSED THE GAME BUT I DID WATCH SOME HIGHLIGHTS, I CANT BLAME THE COACHING BECAUSE WE ALL KNOW THE QUALITY OF THE RAMS COACHES. EIGHT TURNOVERS, WHEN I PLAYED IN FOOTBALL WE WON BY HOLDING ON TO THE BALL. "TREAT THIS BALL LIKE IT'S YOUR GIRLFRIENDS VIRTUE."YOU CANT WIN BY GIVING THE AWAY ALLTHE TIME. MARSHALL WILL BE BACK AND THINGS WILL GET BACK TO NORMAL WINNING GORAMS:rolleyes:

i agree with dez, a perfect season was never meant to be. The Saints didn't play that well, we just gave them plenty of opportunity to take the game away from us and they did. i also thought we'd split the series and i still do. The game in NO should be quite the beatdown....i hope.

Let's not let this one get us down. For me, it's not so much that we lost, it's WHO we lost to. But the truth is that the Aints did not beat the Rams, the Rams beat the Rams. All those turnovers, who wouldn't win with that kind of advantage? Give the Aints credit for coming back and taking it from us though. We opened the game on a great note but, for whatever reason, couldn't keep that rhythm going. It even seemed at one point that the whole tone of the game changed and that was before halftime. Not so sorry now that I didn't actually get to SEE the game, though I would have liked to have seen Wistrom's sacks. Points allowed is deceiving because the defense played well. It's hard to stop a team that keeps getting the ball handed to them so close to our goalline.

Sigh of relief that this is a bye week, time to mend our souls and minds as well as our bodies.

You are totally right about the Saints they did a good job with our turnovers, the worst team in the league could have done what the Saints did, but it was the Saints and it bothers me alot. Anyway, we'll take a week off, regroup, and continue with the rest of the season. Sleeper and a team to watch is, DaBears!

Turning over the football – 8 times – it’s a wonder the RAMS didn’t get beat more soundly. But even with 8 turnovers they almost had the chance to pull it out. Turnovers are costly.
The defense held it’s ground, except for a couple of long pass plays, and they seem to be getting better every week.
Home field advantage is just that. Take off and run with it the entire game, not just the first half.
Losing within the division, especially to the Aints – is not good, but as long as the Winers keep losing, I’m happy!

All the smack talk from NO will feul the Rams for a Victory on Monday Night Football. Sunday's loss will serve the team. It's the juice that's going to get us home field advantage. It's the juice that's going to ensure that we make it to the Super Bowl.

We turned the ball over 8 times and lost. Period. That's it. There are no MORAL victories in the NFL; just look at the Giants. Since their so called moral victory against the Rams, they haven't showed up. The Redskins beat them last week. What I am saying is that you have to show up and play 60 minutes of football every week. We only played 30 minutes the other day. The trick plays didn't kill us, the defense didn't really kill us, penalties, turnovers, and special teams again killed us. Penalties and turnovers can be taken care of with a little more discipline. Special teams takes talent and currently we don't have that type of talent. Folks, we got beat Sunday. Its over. The players aren't looking back, just read Tuesday's sports page at the post page. We will get beat again, and again, and I agree with Dez, probably again. 12-4 looks real good this year in the NFC. I'm just glad we got off to such a torrid start.

p.s. That is my old ships patch when I was in the Navy. God Bless our Troops.

I think everyone in this thread had good, reasonable things to say about the loss. I'm not claiming a Rams moral victory -- but, it isn't nonsense to say that we came close. Yes, we lost. Period; and losing game seven isn't the worst thing that can happen to a team. It's a good time to do it if you're going to do it. Better to stew over a loss now then in the post season -- maybe it will do them some good to come back down to Earth and remember to play for 60 minutes rather than 30.

The Rams will not follow the Giants' lead. One of the Giants' problems is that they don't have an offense to get the job done. The Rams do. They had a bad game. I don't think 12-4 looks good. Have you looked at SF's schedule? It would be a shame see the Rams go in on a wild card, but I think it would be an even worse shame to assume we'll lose three more games because we fell apart on Sunday. The Rams will rule the West 14-2.
and it will take 14-2 to win the West.

(hopefully the second loss won't be to SF since I have payed $250 to see that game in Dec!)

    Hey Max,

I wasn't trying to say that we will fall into the same abyss as the Giants, I am just saying when you look at the win loss columns, there isn't one for close or moral victories. You either win or lose or even quite possibly tie.

I predicted 12-4 out of the gate, I think that was an aggressive guess on the loss column. 14-2 is doable, as long as we "sneak" past the Panthers. lol

The Panthers were a royal pain in our butts last year. Those two divisional losses really came back to haunt us.This year I dont think we will take them lightly, but that field in Carolina is a mess.My only worry against the Panthers is Marshalls knee when we play in Carolina. The Rams have the potential to win the rest of their games if they can avoid the turnovers and penalties.13-3 sounds good to me though!

    GO RAMS!STAY FOCUSED!WIN!
