Dr. Z on potential Rams HOFers

"ST.LOUIS -- WR's Isaac Bruce and Torry Holt. Bruce, yes. Holt, needs more seasons like the last one. Marshall Faulk. Combined rushing and pass-catching yards (ninth all-time, and could move into sixth this year) makes him a yes in my book. Body might be breaking down, though. Marc Bulger. I'm listing him here because of that Omigosh start his career got off to a couple of years ago. I can't get it out of my mind, what a gutsy, down-the-field thrower he was. He tailed a bit at the end of last season, but if he ever gets back to his old ways ... Orlando Pace. Good, not great, I feel. Aeneas Williams. Yes. The best of the post-Deion corners, along with Darrell Green. Or to be more accurate, tied with Green for best of the second bests, behind Deion."

I actually think that Williams was a better corner than Deion because not only did he know how to tackle, he loved to hit. Don't get me wrong, Deion is probably the best cover corner ever. But when I look at the best player at a position, I look at the overall game; and this case I believe Williams had a better overall game than Deion. But thats just my opinion.

In pre-defense (if that's a word) of Mok, if Bulger can make the Hall for his "Omigosh start his career got off to", then Warner is a gimme for the HOF.
Orlando Pace. Good, not great, I feel.
This is a joke, right? OP is an elite O-lineman and has been since the first day he set foot in the NFL.
Aeneas Williams. Yes. The best of the post-Deion corners, along with Darrell Green. Or to be more accurate, tied with Green for best of the second bests, behind Deion."
And the jokes just keep on coming. Neither Darrell Green nor Aeneas Williams should take a backseat to any corner. Deion had exactly half a game. He was a great cover corner, the best in the league...but he couldn't bring down a grandmother if she was carrying a football. How did teams play Deion, they ran right at him, he got out of the way. You don't do that with Aeneas or Green. Deion, ahead of Aeneas and Green...unbeliveable.

Who is this Dr. Z guy? The Z must stand for zig zag, cause this guy is smoking the lefties.

Agreed, but I really don't think you can mention either for the HOF based on what they've done thus in Warner's case or their potential in Bulger's.

Agreed. Which makes me again wonder out loud, who is Dr. Z?

Um, I completely disagree. Three years does not a Hall of Famer make.

That's all it took Joe Namath. But before you say anything, I don't think Namath should be in the hall, either.

    The way I see it:

    Already in:

    Aeneas Williams
    Marshall Faulk

    Almost certainly in:

    Isaac Bruce

    Well on their way:

    Orlando Pace

Potential to make it in time:

    Torry Holt

Well, I think Namath's situation is slightly different. Clearly his stats weren't HOF worthy, but I think he's deserving because of his impact on the game itself. But it's certainly debatable.

I'm curious as to what impact that might be.

Are you saying you don't believe Namath had a huge impact on the NFL? I believe he changed the way people looked at football and was a major factor in bringing in new fans. Someone like Namath in today's league wouldn't be regarded nearly as much. But because of the period, Namath is a legend of the game. The hair, the attitude, everything.
