here is the play off race for the Rams.

NFC West

The Seahawks have clinched a playoff berth

Seattle can clinch division title with:
1) Seahawks win or tie
OR
2) Rams loss or tie.

The Rams can clinch division with:
1) St. Louis win and Seahawks loss.

The Rams can clinch playoff berth with:
1) Rams win and Vikings loss
OR
2) Rams win and Saints/Panthers game ends in tie.

Question..... what happens if the Rams win and either the Saints or Panthers win?

Rams lose the tiebreaker with either the Panthers or the Saints on the head-to-head matchup if either ends up 8-8. That's why they'd have to tie, both ending with a 7-8-1 record, for the Rams to beat them out for the wild card.

So, bottom line is


1) The Rams MUST win

AND

2) the Seahawks to loose (if this happens, everything else is mute)

3) or if the Seahawks win, the Vikings MUST loose.


Simple enough then
