Mac & Co.... who are your RB picks?

    1, 2, 3?

    1, 2, ,3, 4? I was hoping for TGanaway.

    Too hard for me.

Hopefully he will be kept on the shelf for 'when the time comes'!
I agree my friend, well just have to wait and see, would be a shame to see him go our that way. He would gives us another play maker on the field. I honestly believe that most of our WR will end up needing Double coverage and as we all know is impossible by any Defense. I'm really looking forward to the 53 select because were going to have to cut some good players !

    Real.

My take is Richardson, Pead, Stacy and TG....in that order at least to start the season.

Re: EARLY, tentative 2013 Rams 53 player roster

    • I would expect the Rams to be shopping some running backs, or putting backs on waivers who get claimed elsewhere once cuts begin. They have six on the roster who Fisher believes are NFL-worthy, and the hopes are high that second-year backs Isaiah Pead and Daryl Richardson will take big steps this season. "I think they've grown up a ton since last year," Bradford said.

I was really intrigued by back Benjamin Cunningham out of Middle Tennessee State leading up the draft -- a speedster who missed almost all of his senior year with a patella injury. He was signed un-drafted out of Middle-Tennessee State, and his explosiveness has returned. Even in this crowded backfield I bet he makes the team.

"It's all back," Fisher said of the speed that jumped out to him on film. "I wouldn't hesitate to play him."

However, some within the organization have cautioned about Pead's issues in pass protection and that there is still much debate about whether or not he can get it together at this level. One name to watch in this bunch is Zac Stacy, who looks like a good fit in a lot of the one-back stuff Schottenheimer wants to run to spread the field and attack defenses.

Stacy, a fifth-round pick out of Vanderbilt, has explosion and could be a sleeper who emerges as a rookie.

    From Jason La Canfora's
'Rams camp observations: Even younger, faster and looking dangerous'
    August 5, 2013 [Emphasis mine]
This does not imply that Pead would not make the team of course but it also makes way for the "My take is Richardson, Pead, Stacy and TG....in that order at least to start the season" you suggested.

Possibly with Gannaway and Cunningham competing for last spot?

One change that I can see would be Mike McNeill in for Lutzenkirchen at TE. I’ve read that the coaches rate McNeill’s special teams play highly, so I can see Lutzenkirchen going onto the practise squad.

Agreed SW, likely to go that way for these two TEs.

    Ben Cunningham --

Would ... Richardson / Stacy / Cunningham / Pead* be feasible? TGannaway to practice squad?

Re: EARLY, tentative 2013 Rams 53 player roster

In their first practice since the preseason opener in Cleveland, the Rams looked fresh and focused throughout the afternoon. Despite it being a shells practice, the intensity remained high for a team that appears hungry and eager to learn from experiences such as its exhibition loss to the Browns two days ago

At the running back position, Daryl Richardson showed off his north-and-south speed with a number of big runs. Benny Cunningham and Chase Reynolds each received a considerable number of reps both carrying the ball and in the pass game with Terrance Ganaway and Zac Stacy each taking a day to rest.

[Safety] Matt Daniels was a full participant in Saturday’s practice and had a pass breakup in 7-on-7. Before returning to the field full time this afternoon, Daniels spent the first part of camp rehabbing and most recently taking part in the team’s individual practice periods. LB Jabara Williams and WR Andrew Helmick also returned to the field after spending some time out of practice.

Rams Return to Practice Field After First Preseason Game

Hmm, interesting ... Pead is not even mentioned. Perhaps only a coincidence?

Unsure if J. Williams and A. Helmick are better now injury wise as implied by 'returning to the field'.

    It seems you're right.

In addition to Jared Cook and Lance Kendricks, several more look for the coveted seal of approval:

    Cameron Graham - - - - 6-3 - 244 - 24 - 1 - Louisville
    Corey Harkey - - - - - -- 6-4 - 260 - 23 - 2 - UCLA
    Phillip Lutzenkirchen --- 6-3 - 260 - 22 - R - Auburn
    Mike McNeill - - - - - - -- 6-4 - 235 - 25 - 3 - Nebraska
    Zach Potter - - - - - - - - 6-7 - 265 - 27 - 5 - Nebraska
    Colby Prince - - - - - - -- 6-5 - 260 - 24 - R - Oregon St

Right now I suppose Graham and Prince are longshots?

    RamsHerd @RamsHerd

Isaiah Pead getting reps with the first team in 11s. Had a nice carry, jump cut outside the left tackle.
Pead was running with the first team Sat. He had a fumble that was not good but he also had a nice blitz pick up in that game. Pead only had 3 carries but his avg was 6 yards per. Funny I keep reading how indecisive he is with the ball in his hands but he's very productive.
RBs Zac Stacy and Terrance Ganaway sat out Saturday practice. Fisher says Stacy will be back on the field Monday.
Both Stacy and DRich dropped easy passes in that game. Pead is the best receiving back IMO.
Ganaway needs to get healthy soon and show his stuff in a game or two or he will be gone. I'm not sure if the Rams would sign him to the practice squad if he can't make the roster. He was here all last year, what's another year going to do for him?

I think it comes down to this, if Ganaway makes the team, they need to keep four and Cunningham goes to the practice squad. If Cunningham looks to good they won't risk putting him on the wire and they will cut Ganaway. IF Pead completely falls apart maybe they cut him, I don't see this happening.

I have it DRich, Pead, Stacy and Ganaway on the roster and Cunningham on practice squad as of today.
