The Edge
According to an article on ESPN dot com,
Edgerrin James has asked for his release from the team, after losing his starting job. They say it's because they still think of him as a valuable part of the team. My black helicopter theory, however is that the Rams would be able to pick him off the waiver wire. Not sure how much is left on his contract, but as I come to my senses, it's probably a lot, at least something we couldn't afford.
So, here's the question. If they do release him, would you take him? Sure, he has no "Leonard Leap" left in him, but he's a very capable back.
Thoughts, please.

Re: The Edge
I would. But how long is Jackson going to be out?
Pittman has shown he is a reliable back up.
So I really don't know. It would be nice, but if SJax is coming back next week agains the Dolphins then I will pass.

Re: The Edge
He clearly doesnt want to be a backup so why would he come here?

Re: The Edge
This season is OVER. No use spending money on an old backup. Lets let Pittman and Darby keep showing the league they belong, then cut them and have them go on to have wonderful careers elsewhere.

Re: The Edge
His agent, Drew Rosenhaus (who is enough of a red flag), was quoted as saying he hoped the Cards would spare Edge "the indignity of standing on the sidelines." They're paying a hefty sum to have him stand so disgraced on the sidelines, so there must be a good reason for it. You know what's really disgraceful? His 3.5 yards per carry. His longest rush this year of 16 yards.
He's got nothing left in the tank and apparently still thinks he deserves to start in the NFL. I'll pass.

Re: The Edge
No, No, No, NO! And again NO! We've went to the FA well far to many times to get elderly players, time to start a new/fresh with young talent with upside; I mean dang the season is almost over there is not need.

Re: The Edge
Wow, I was expecting at least some argument here. But I have to say I'm happy with the results.

Re: The Edge
Trade Jackson and Bulger to someone for two good linebackers and a center.
Or trade Jackson, Lecky and Barron for a linebacker and a first and second.
Or trade Jackson for a .......donkey?
Just trade Jackson. He has the Ricky Williams desease.Last edited by live4ramin; -11-21-2008 at 04:38 PM.

Re: The Edge
The edge is no longer an elite back. We should definitely pass. I see a lot of potential in antonio pittman
