H Balzer reports...
this is a big deal...
Rams reached an agreement to upgrade and improve the Edward Jones Dome...
work will start in March.... completed in 2009...
will try to lighten the place up, make it brighter, try to find a way to get some sunlight in....
will re-do the end zones, with new scoreboards, video boards.
awesome news....

Finally some new video and scoreboards! Those things were ancient. The "ways to bring in sunlight.." ect. things sound very interesting.

Uh, thank God! The best possible thin they can do to the dome is cut hole in the roof and make it like Texas Stadium. This should keep the Rams in STL past 2015.

Re: Edwards Jones Dome to be upgraded
I heard the stadium was to small for a Super bowl. That's why the Rams will be in So.Cal. in 2012.

And with the holy god tons of money LA would give for a team coming back, I don't think breaking the lease would be a problem. That said, I'll be very upset if they move as I'm only 5 hours away at the moment. Now just to get tickets.....

Re: Edwards Jones Dome to be upgraded
The biggest upgrade possible right now would be sellout crowds that actually provide a homefield advantage by screaming their lungs out !!!

Re: Edwards Jones Dome to be upgraded
They desperately need a new scoreboard, the one they have is pathetic. The sound system is also pathetic. This is good news.

Re: Edwards Jones Dome to be upgraded
Amen! I was sickened by the people that were glued to their seats at the game the other day...Section 115. They really pissed me off. I have been thinking of a way to organize an effort to buy the season tickets for the lower ares and get them into the hands of true fans. I just thought about that idea today.

Very good news for the Dome! I'm intrigued by the idea about getting some sunlight in there.

Better late than never. Glad to know our house will get a nice remodeling. I trust the Rams will be well deserving of this fringe benefit too.
Tell me, how does the EDJ rate right now against the other 31 NFL locations?
Where do you place it (number)?...

Re: Edwards Jones Dome to be upgraded
I'm pleased to hear about the proposed upgrades for the Dome. I'm all for the Rams staying in St.Louis and prefereably at the Dome.
Don't agree with the idea of trying to make the Dome like Houston's stadium by removing the center of the roof. The indoor stadium has suited our game for many years now - why give an advantage to the non-Dome teams who come visiting?
