espn/ clayton reports on rams....
clayton reports that the rams and marc bulger are starting to work out a new contract... i believe this is an awesome move for the rams...

Marc should be a very happy man about now. He has as an unbelievable amount of offensive firepower at his disposal and a new younger improved O-line in front of him. In theory they should keep him on his feet more and less time in intensive care. :x Hopefully he signs a nice big fat contract that keeps him happy and around for at least five more years.

According to Rotoworld...
ESPN's John Clayton reports the Rams are not close to signing Marc Bulger to a long-term contract extension.
Bulger will make $3.95 million in the final year of his contract. Clayton expects a new deal to be in place by the start of training camp.

I hope they mean that they're not close in regards to making up a contract and not as in not close to Bulger wanting to receive a new, extended contract...?

This is getting turned around and twisted all over the internet.
I seen Clayton on SportsCenter, and he was talking about the NFC West. The only thing he said was that Bulger and the Rams were in the early stages of the negations for a long term deal and he thought it would get done before camp. There was nothing said about numbers being close or any other hints of turmoil. I took it as face value and nothing more. They indeed are trying to get something done that is all.
