Fat boy throwing a party--Bernie
From Bernies pressbox...
Post subject: Pace will be back real soon...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If his social calendar means anything....
He's hosting a party after Friday's game for his teammates.
Even the rookies have been invited.
Big fella wouldn't be doing that unless he's about to rejoin the herd.
He's been working out twice a day.
One teammate told me Big O is in good shape.
Cheers,
Bernie

Was it just me, or did the topic of this thread make you think...
"Fat guy in a little coat... fat guy in a little coat!"
Maybe its just me.

More Bernie on Pace
I guess I'm in the minority.
I wish Pace would have reported sooner, as I indicated in the Bits last week.
But I don't hold it against him that he didn't.
This is the NFL system.
He was under no obligation to report.
And his teammates do not resent him for not being there.
His agents are idiots, but it's not as if the Rams made it a priority to negotiate a long-term deal with them. Just because Carl Poston submits an outrageous proposal, you don't throw your hands up and refuse to engage. You keep talking and you try to chip away.
I also think he played very well last season. He is by far the best lineman and nothing has changed. I also don't believe he was out of shape early last season. A little puffy, but he stepped in and played well. I keep hearing some people say how he cost the Rams the first game of the season (at NYG); in fact I heard a guy say that again today on the radio. That's absurd.
Welcome back to the Big O.
Cheers,
Bernie

I don't know if you could say that Pace is the best o-lineman by far. There is Jonathon Ogden in Baltimore who reports to camp and trains with his teammates. Don't get me wrong, Pace is one of the top o-lineman but I just don't think he is the best by far.
