Pity it is happening in such a dire season and at a game where the Dome will be filled with Steelers fans..

I hear you on that one man, what a shame. But regardless, his number deserves to be retired and I am happy that it is happening. There won't be another Great 28...The future hall of famer...I am so glad I got to see the man play for our team.

Marshall deserves this honor, but I have a couple of questions, why so soon after retirement ? is this just a ploy to get people at the game ? there are plenty of seats available and I think this is a shameless way to fill the dome, this is an event that should made known months in advance so people can plan to be there, sounds like the FO grasping at someway to fill the seats.

Re: Faulk's number 28 to be retired

As a professional cynic, my first thought when i saw the thread title was that the rams were doing this right now to get people into the dome. Alas, i read jkrams reply and see that he beat me to it. JK is a well known cynic in addition to having the capacity to consume ale and grog at a rate seldom seen in this hemisphere.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, this honor is well deserved and i think its a great decision. Faulk should go into the ring of fame now as well.

    ramming speed to all

Who cares when it's done? Geez, can this organization do anything right for some of you? Win one Super Bowl in 50,000 years and it's like that's it or nothing.

Anyway, the hanging of jersey #28 was a no brainer from the day he retired and it will be a special occassion for ALL Rams fans.

I think this is a great thing to do, but you have to admit that this smells a little fishy,3 weeks to this game on national TV and its not sold out and out of nowhere hey lets retire Faulks jersey at this game,as popular as Faulk was and is, now they will fill the dome,no ram is more deserving but read between the lines on this one.

Well, I've never been a big Oliver Stone fan so conspiracies don't really hold much water....except for the fact oil companies are making BILLIONS and still raising gas prices because some sheik sneezes over there.

I don't care when the Rams do it. If it means that they retire Marshall's number to fill the seats then so be it....it's not like they haven't brought Marshall in before to bail them out.

It is definitly a ploy to fill the seats... perhaps FO is feeling some presure from above about how... feces... the Rams are this year.

Never the less. i will not alllow this to ruin Marshalls moment. He deserves it, earned it and I will appreicate him during it.

    CONGRATULATIONS FAULK!!!!!!!

Well, look at it from this perspective. The way the Rams have looked for the last four years, when would it be a good time? They haven't actually been setting the NFL on fire for quite awhile.

Good for The Marshall, the fans and ... well, for having something to feel good about and to rejoice in!

Well deserved No. 28. Yet I wish ... how I wish that No. 75 were also retired in the same ceremony. Deacon Jones has every single merit to justify having his jersey revered that way too. To several of us fans, it is long overdue for this venerable HOF.

I'm happy they are doing it for him, but I'd rather it not be during a game where there are as many road fans as home ones.
