Re: Favorite Ram Commentator
Has anyone on the board been around long enough to remember Bob Kelley, who was the rams play by play announcer and a part owner of the team from the time that they moved to LA until his death in I believe the late 50's or 60's. He was the first true voice of the Rams.

3 cheers for Bernie...
Hip, Hip...Hooray

At least the guy gives an opinion, and will go out on a limb once in while, unlike someone that comes to mind.

Re: Favorite Ram Commentator
Bernie would be fine if it weren't for his inconsistent and ever-changing opinions, questionable conncetion between his statements and the actual facts, disdain for the fans, and smug writing style.

Re: Favorite Ram Commentator
I remember the magic of Gabriel to Snow. When they clicked it was beautiful. I remember watching an Angels game with Snow's son up to bat, Jack was a guest in the announcer's box I believe. There he sat, watching his son who was up to bat with the bases loaded..... BAM! a grand slam.... how proud he must have felt.

Re: Favorite Ram Commentator
Even when I can get the game on a local TV station, I mute the program and turn on the radio to get Jack Snow and Steve Savard's commentary. They are much better at calling what's happening on the field than any tv commentator.
Jack Snow played for the Rams, so when he talks about the franchise, he knows what he's talking about. He's always there at training camp, willing to man a practice when called on to do so. He takes the time to get to know the players and potential Rams so when he comments on a player, he's not talking from heresay. He's also provided excellent PR with the fans (he's more approachable and charismatic than Savard, and yes, I'm sorry to say, more so than Mr. Balzer.)
If Jack ever leaves the booth, I will miss him terribly.
