As an FYI, I didn't include Zuerlein or Hatcher because both have only 2 years with the team. I suspect that in a couple of years, both would be worthy of being on a poll of this type.

Re: Favorite Rams: Poll #8 - Special Teams

Had to go with Mike Lansford because he was a mainstay for us for so long and the barefooted kicking was a real hoot at the time. Jeff Wilkens gets an honorable mention. Another longtime stalwart for us. Ron Brown and Tony Horne gave us plenty of excitement on returns. Surprised not to see Travis "roadrunner" Williams as a RS and Tom Dempsey or Tony Zendejas as K'ers. Realize you have to cut-off the list somewhere.

    Go Rams!

Had to go with Mike "the man with no shoe" Lansford but was super hard choice between him and 'money' Wilkins.

... honorable mention to Tony Zendejas

....but they are real; and they're spectacular.

Mike Lansford, entire NFL career with the Rams (1982-90). Good clutch FG kicker.

I went with Brown. Loved watching him play.

LeRoy Irvin a close second for me.

Agreed, Ron Brown, the first name that popped into my head when I saw the thread title. Olympic gold medal winning sprinter speed, with the ability to take it to the house any time he returned a kick, especially in '85, when he did just that, 3 times.

We have had a lot of great kickers, but I went with Horne because he made the '99 Rams into more than a supercharged Fouts' style San Diego offense. While Wistrom and Carter put on the pressure that made QBs stupid and made interceptions happen, Horne made it possible for the Rams to be up by 14 before the opponent even took a snap. He and Al-Zahir Hakim seemed like the two fast guys on the team.

He's not the most important special teams man, nor the greatest, but he was my favorite.

Jeff Money Wilkins was a very close 2nd for me. He spent most of his NFL career with the STL Rams (1997-07) and obviously, our PK during the GSOT / SB XXXIV years. Solid stats.

I'm bumping each of these threads to allow anyone who wants to get in a vote to do so before Monday. At that point, I'll close these threads and post a final poll in which the winners of each category will compete for the title of ClanRam's All-Time Favorite Ram!

Gotta love it....Teri Hatcher on Seinfeld. Fell in love with her from that point forward.

The best return was the one he had against the ***** in the game that snapped the 17 game losing streak!

    Go Rams!
