The NFL Network's "It's a Football Life" is running a story on the Fearsome Foursome next Wednesday 8pm est.
This was our defense when I started following and falling in love with our RAMS!!!!

Re: The "FEARSOME FOURSOME"
I am extremely excited to see this. A football life is a great series.
Fisher should make Long, Quinn, Langford and Brockers and the lines backups watch this together Wednesday.

I thought this topic was going to be a nod to our front four last night!
I'll be sure to check this out though.

Thanks LARam0. Saw that announced last night during the game vs AZ.

You got that right TR!Fisher should make Long, Quinn, Langford and Brockers and the lines backups watch this together Wednesday. -- Tampa Ram
Now, for the mid-late 60s fans like yours truly, this is a MUST see! For younger and current generation Rams fans, watch and enjoy one of the most respected and awesome defenses in NFL history, particularly stemming from the DL...
The Fantastic Four!
The roots of this ferocious quartet began in the early 60s but was solidified with the arrival of HC George Allen -- a defense mastermind -- in 1966.

THE NEW FORMIDABLE FOURSOME? Although nowadays there is much more rotation going in and out between DL as well as OL players, for our D I'd like to see a more steady dose of Quinn, Brockers, Cudjo / Heard, and Long!

This will be awesome!
I feel fortunate to have watched the Fearsome Foursome play. I cut my teeth as a Rams fan with these guys. Of course I'm biased, but to this very day, I think Merlin Olsen is the best DT I have ever seen play.

Re: The "FEARSOME FOURSOME"
Our Fab Four was one of the first to truly make a name for itself as a DL quartet. Thereafter others gained popularity such as the Doomsday Defense of Dallas; Curtain Steel of the Steelers; No-name Defense of Miami; the Purple People Eaters of the Vikings; etc.
But the Fearsome Foursome were among the more original and unique - aside from awesome!

Re: The "FEARSOME FOURSOME"
I just finished watching the show.
OMG, the memories for me as an old Rams fan, the pictures and interviews brought back such fantastic feelings of pride and and respect for the greatest linemen the game as ever produced.
What a great, great story of friendship and love of each other and the game of football. As much as I hate to admit it, I actually cried during a couple of segments...
Fantastic presentation.Faithful Rams fan since 1968

Re: The "FEARSOME FOURSOME"
I was not yet born when these guys were wreaking havoc on opposing offenses, but as a student of sports, I have seen countless footage of them and hold a tremendous appreciation for what they did and how they positively represented the Rams colors. Awesome individuals both on and off the field. Tonight's segment was excellent- and highlighted fond memories of the past. Deacon and Merlin, specifically were the best that ever was.
RIP Merlin Olsen and Lamar Lundy- Rams forever.
