Features you'd like to see in a new stadium
If you could serve as an advisor to a group making plans for a new Rams stadium in St. Louis, what features would you like to see included.
Here is my list:
1. Open Air: I think the days of the fixed dome are over. While I'm fine with the concept of a retractable dome, on a nice day, I want to see the sky from the stands.
2. Local Flavor: While the EJD is comfortable, and the views of the field are fine, there is nothing about that stadium that says "St. Louis Rams" to me. I'd like to see the new stadium feature Rams colors (NO MORE RED SEATS!), St. Louis food (toasted ravs at the concessions stand, a bar-b-que restaurant in the facility - perhaps with an outside window to serve tailgaiters).
3. Pump Up the Volume: Modern stadium designs can enhance crowd noise and give the home team a real advantage (Seattle, for example). This should be part of the plan.
4. Celebrate the Team's History: The EJD has a few Rams touches, including retired jerseys and a Ring of Honor. There should be more of that. Celebrate the team's rich history with statues, plaques, and even a mini Rams HOF exhibition.
What are some of the things you'd like to see?
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

On the ring of fame, I would have this changed so only RAM players feature on it.
I love the idea of an open stadium

Re: Features you'd like to see in a new stadium
I very strongly agree with all of AV's suggestions. I also feel the Rams should have a huge Pro Shop on site to buy Rams apparel and memorabilia. I went to see the Rams-Dolphins this year and was impressed by their team store. I don't remember a whole lot on site during my two past trips the dome.
And while I realize this may ruffle some feathers, I suggest all St. Louis football Cardinals be eliminated from the Ring of Honor. This is the RAMS stadium, not the Cardinals- and while I understand the city's attachment to a former football team, all references to the old football Cardinals now belong in Arizona, not St. Louis.

forgot to say though on the open stadium idea, it would need to be retractable due to play off weather

Open air
Grass
Bigger team store
Plenty of tailgate space, with a stage for a band
Easy in and out driving access and away from the freeway
Plenty of Rams Logo's throughout the stadium
Pink carpet and incredibly horrible conditions for the visitors locker room!
"The disappointment of losing is huge!"

Actually, to add to the fun, I'd like to see them arrange the seats with a mix of blue gold and white to create the Rams logo in the seats. Not that you'd see it during the game, but I think it'd be fun for picture of the empty stadium. Hey, I can dream, right?

Re: Features you'd like to see in a new stadium
I like the idea of letting the ticket holders drive their cars right into the stadium, not unlike a colossal parking garage, where fans can enjoy the game and tailgate from the comfort of their recrational vechicle. This amennity would make convertibles popular once again on the odd chance of a sunny day. Replays would be supplied by bluethooth.
Patient, not saintly.
