CB Fernando Bryant considers the Broncos, Rams..
BRYANT SIGNING COMING?
Posted by Mike Florio on March 19, 2008, 11:03 a.m.
Veteran cornerback Fernando Bryant, cut last month by the Detroit Lions, could soon be landing in a new city.
According to a league source, Bryant is in discussions with several teams and could agree to terms within the next 24 hours. Possible destinations include the Denver Broncos and St. Louis Rams.
Bryant, 30, spent five years with the Jaguars and four with the Lions.

I wouldn't mind this signing given it is relatively cheap. He would give us much needed depth at a thin position especially if Brown gets suspended, and he would provide better talent and depth than Lenny Walls (LOL!) did last offseason.
Re: CB Fernando Bryant considers the Broncos, Rams..
I believe that someone else said no to more Lions' trash, and to some degree I have to agree with that statement when it comes to this guy. Their secondary isn't exactly the most spectacular, and he couldn't even stick around. That said, if the contract is cheap enough and we are concerned enough about Brown, he could be a better dime/quarter back than Walls, certainly.

He's nothing great...dont overpay him. All in all I wouldnt mind him though...actually I'd like to have him.
Fernando Bryant to the Rams??

Would be nice to get some experience at the CB position and free up a draft need. This guy worht the look?
Re: Fernando Bryant to the Rams??
I'd like him, but only for the right price.
He's not great, but not bad either, and could bring some experience.
Re: Fernando Bryant to the Rams??
The question in my mind is would he be an upgrade over any of the players we currently have?
Re: Fernando Bryant to the Rams??
Monkey crap! Just to quote myself form a previous thread.
Who is in charge of FA and the draft and why do they pay these guys. If they cann't get creative what good are they. I meen take FA. Any trained monkey knows we need OL help, we lost a kicker, Def,count the # of sacks, 3-13 etc. Almost any move could fill a hole. And the moves so far have done just that. (Bell a little up grade)But we should not want to just fill a hole. We should be trying to do something to change us into a 13-3 team. I feel that the same thing will happen in the draft. 2nd pick of the draft let the monkey pull one of four names out of a hat and it's a safe pick. Now I don't have the answers, that is why I go to my job each day and they go to theirs. I just want to see something more from them, then taking whatever falls into their lap because it could just be crap thrown away by some other monkey.
Re: Fernando Bryant to the Rams??
Well, with Fahkir Brown's status shaky the Rams better bring in as many corners as possible.

Great point tx but I have to admit I was expecting something about Tye Hill from you here.:)

In my openion if he stays healthy he might be better than Hill or Bartell. Thats a big if. I think he could do Wade some good and not force him into major playing time, but he'd still see the field as the NO 4 CB if you catch my drift. It all hinges on Brown in my openion though.
Re: Fernando Bryant to the Rams??
I'd rather get a young guy like Fabian Washington with the Raiders acquisition of Deangelo Hall. They might be the most stacked team at the corner position (Rout, Hall, Asomuguah, Washington) they can afford to loose 1.

The San Francisco Chronicle confirms that the Raiders are actively shopping CB Fabian Washington.
If Washington hadn't lost his confidence and job to Stanford Routt in 2007 and been accused of domestic battery in February, his value would be a lot higher. As is, Oakland shouldn't be asking for more than a third-round pick.
Re: Fernando Bryant to the Rams??
If he comes with a cheap contract, it'd be really nice. But if he's expecting something big, he can forget about it.
