I agree with you, maui, but there's a pang in my gut that tells me somehow Owens finds his way on the roster.

No love for Leckey?

Regarding Owens, he's a decent special teams player, but with Al running the O, I don't see Owens making the roster soley because of his ST play. The acquisition of Kreider I believe will result in Owens being released.

On the matter of Leckey, I just flat out forgot him and actually had to search for Levoir. I'm going to change that now, but if you hadn't have pointed it out to me I would have missed it ... I still believe we'll carry 10 O-linemen, one of which will likely be a wairver wire pickup ..

Re: Final roster .. Who do you think makes it?

I think you're spot on.

Except for one thing we'll end up with 7 WR's with Hagans or Stanley (both wildcards at different positions) making the team. 8 DB's (Macklin not making the team) or 6 LB's (Vobora (PS) cut and Macklin in)

I don't think we'll carry 7 wideouts, but maybe you're right .. we'll soon see. Since we don't have much depth at the O-line, LB, or DB positions, I see us loading up in those areas .. Macklin and Eric Bassey are on the bubble for sure, I would imagine it will come down to who is on the waiver wire come Saturday. Macklin or Bassey could make the final cutdown and then be released if the Rams find a guy available they like better. We only have one team in line in front of us which bodes well for us as we'll get to pick ahead of everyone else. Billy D. and crew will be on it I'm sure.

Re: Final roster .. Who do you think makes it?

I agree pretty much 100% on the roster you made Maui. A couple of the names might be off(but I doubt it, at least from my view), but I think that the numbers are spot on.

The 10th O-lineman could be LeCharles Bentley?

Re: Final roster .. Who do you think makes it?

With Stanley learning plays on defense I think he can make the team. That means he knows how to make tackles, he could be a value in many ST.

Re: Final roster .. Who do you think makes it?

Good point Holt, with Massey as the LS, he could be considered the "10th Lineman", which would open a spot for Stanley as a swing player. At the very least I bet he makes the practice squad as our primary call up.

Of course that would also mean no scraps from other teams. And now that I think about it, it's also quite possible that we grab a scrap linebacker as a reserve and put Vobora or Chamberlain on the practice squad.

Good prediction Maui. I think that WR is the most difficult postion to choose, i think the no 6 spot could be anyones.

You think there'll be a Jon Alston type shocker this year?

Massey can play fullback in a pinch, but the Rams want him healthy to long snap. I don't see what the point would be to consider Massey as a lineman when he clearly isn't a lineman.

The Rams have an interesting problem with Stanley, particularly if he is any good at playing defense which is probably a long shot. Derek has looked sharp in practice, but hasn't been able to carry over that "sharpness" into preseason games so far. Stanley looked good last year returning KOs when Hall was out, but he's on the bubble right now. I think he is a sure bet to make the practice squad again if he doesn't make the final roster. There is also the possibility he could be claimed off the PS by another team .. It would be nice if one of the PD writers would do an article on Derek and direct some light on his abilities (or lack of them) as a db ..
