    Fire Shurmur

Holy crap his playcalling is Atrocious. I would rather take Jim Zorn as our OC right now.

I thought Saunders was bad but Shurmur is just as bad.

Billy D & Spags dont seem the type to make Knee-Jerk reactions...especially when they are the ones who have decided what weapons Shurmar will have to play with.
Avery dont get injured,we win..simple as.
Avery gets injured..we should sack our OC?
thats not how you build a solid franchise..thats the Daniel Snyder approach!

It was just a vent, I am definietly not advocating a mid-season firing. I guess let the season ride out see if we see any improvements.

If not over the offseason fire him.

Shurmur certainly hasn't distinguished himself, but you're only as good as the guys you have. For a coordinator or coach to be successful, he needs players. Currently, the Rams have no playmakers aside from Steven Jackson, and when you're playing from behind for much of the game, your running game is limited.

I thought Al Saunders was a great hire when they got him, as he had success in KC and elsewhere. Little did I know he'd be a part of such a disastrous campaign.

Like the players, Shurmur must get better each time out. Good coaches make something out of what they have and put their players in a position to win.

Up to a point, I agree. And I'm not exactly thrilled with Shurmer either, but it's the old "making chicken salad out of chicken..."

Watching that game Sunday, I decided that up to that point in the 45 years I've been watching the NFL, I had absolutely no f'n idea how important WR's were, or more specifically, how spoiled we had been with Holt and Bruce.

And I have no suggestions as to what to do as I'm not sure there's a difference making WR out there that's available, or that would even want to play for us.

Were Curry and Stanley that bad? And what about our practice squad guys - there has to be a reason we kept them.

Anyway, this isn't a why aren't we 6-0 post - we're going to be bad this year, get used to it - but Shurmer's hands are somewhat tied, IMO.

well..thats some serious back-tracking...if you want to just vent and not have replies then just use a notepad or something..

anyway..id say give him 2 seasons..he hasnt got much talent to work with now and he wont before the season is out...so to sack him after this season is just as unfair as sacking him now.

is harder for an OC to be succesful straight off the bat than it is for a DC.. because defensive players have multiple chances to break up a play..an OC needs pretty much everything to go right for his unit to make even one play.
give Shurmar some useful tools and then judge the body of work he produces with them.
no Offense stands a chance of succeeding if the co-ordinator changes every season..

Billy D & Spags realise that tho im sure.
