FIRST PICK in the DRAFT
.
It's worth a lot. It's a coveted position.
I transfer to Draft issues when the season is out of reach.
It's officially out of Reach.
We can't expect Pace to stay Healthy when he returns, IMO - and Steussie is like 70. So there are numerous needs for this team (as if I had to tell you that).

Re: FIRST PICK in the DRAFT
it will obviously depend on free agency. i think we should try and grab a decent veteran safety but we need youth at OT and DE

Re: FIRST PICK in the DRAFT
I think a pass-rushing DE is the biggest need, if he can play the run too all the better, but pass-rush is the #1 skill I would look for.
Secondly a hard-hitting safety who isn't a liability in coverage would be very nice, we need an enforcer to make them pay when going over the middle.
Third, a tackle for the O-line, this could be an even bigger need depending on whether Pace can ever play again (2 season ending injuries back-to-back, I'm worried).
It looks like we're aiming for the #1 pick, I guess it's time for the inevitable "should we improve our draft position or try to get each and every win even with no playoffs possible?" debates. I was hoping we wouldn't have to discuss that this year, but there it is. Now I just hope that we're not going to be 0-16 for the worst season in league history, at least just get 1 win, we must not go winless what an embarrasment that would be. :\

Re: FIRST PICK in the DRAFT
I really like Calais Campbell. The dude is huge...what is he 6'8"? I dont want us to draft an O-lineman in the first round. I feel our O-line is good, they just cant stay healthy. So we just need to stock up on them.

Re: FIRST PICK in the DRAFT
Is Holt ever going to be the same? Bruce is really getting close to the end..
At some point we need to draft a WR second or third round.
The frist round best O line or DE player on the board.
FA grab a big time SS

Re: FIRST PICK in the DRAFT
I have a thought... Firstly IF, IF it gets to the time that will may have the No.1 pick in 08 i doubt it but who's to say.. personally i feel that a trade-down in some way to try and get Dallas's 2 No.1 picks.. lets be honest what would you rather have ... the No.1 pick OR 2 mid-low 1st round picks... just a thought!

Re: FIRST PICK in the DRAFT
Quite true, Jackie, but wouldn't the Cowboys answer the question the same way? Maybe.....maybe not. Unless something strange happens to the rest of the season for the Rams, Cowboys, or Browns, the trade value should be pretty close for an even swap of firsts. I guess it comes down the question, "is there somebody in the Rams spot that the Cowboys want?"

Re: FIRST PICK in the DRAFT
I say we draft Jake Long with our first rounder and then get a true speed wr like Jordy Nelson in the 2nd.

Re: FIRST PICK in the DRAFT
Myself, i think taking an OT #1 overall has very little impact on a football team. Pace has been semi-great, but not what I expected from the 1st pick in 1997. Don't get me wrong, the Rams need OL. But Jake Long doesn't make me to excited for the Rams to get the #1 overall pick. Just my 2 cents worth...

Re: FIRST PICK in the DRAFT
If we were to trade down,id like a guy like Kenny Philips(if he declares)!
OL obviously is a big need if Pace cant play again.
Id love us to make a run at Gibril Wilson in free agency also!
