With Bradford at side, Fisher tells fans: "Sam's our guy."
17 minutes ago By Jim Thomas jthomas

So much for all those Johnny Manziel to the Rams rumors. During a pre-draft event Wednesday night for Rams season-ticket holders, coach Jeff Fisher told a crowd of about 2,000 crammed into the team's indoor practice facility that "Sam's our guy."

That statement in itself was one thing. We've heard that many times before. But adding oomph to those words was this simple fact: quarterback Sam Bradford was standing right next to Fisher on stage at the time, with a huge shot of Bradford behind them on a video screen.

Show of hands. Anybody still think Bradford is getting traded? Seems pretty safe to scratch one smokescreen off the list.

That must mean we're drafting Manziel with our first pick right?

"Manziel drafted by the Rams" has to take the prize as THE most asinine scenario put out there by these reputed "journalists". It's even more pathetic when you consider ONE GUY dreamed this up then it was perpetuated by others without giving it a shred of thought. Even if you have reservations about Bradford, do you REALLY think St. Louis would draft this guy with clear needs at the offensive line, receiver and safety positions?

Funny thing is I watched the Mock Draft on nfl.com yesterday. Marshall Faulk made our 2nd and 13th picks.

    2. Johnny Manziel, QB
    13. Zack Martin, OL

Was Marshall adding to the smokescreen or was he serious about the RAMS picking Manziel?

Either way, that helps the Rams. Thanks, Marshall.

Marshall's picks will be correct on the same day that Les Snead is named the Rams' starting RB.

Let's just say Marshall has never been a big Bradford fan.

Re: Fisher on Bradford: "He's our guy."

I hope the Rams do draft a QB with a high pick whether it is Manziel or whoever the Rams like in the draft. I'd also like to see them keep Bradford and let the draft pick watch from the sidelines and learn how to be an NFL QB without being thrown immediately into the fire. Dumping Bradford and starting a rookie would be the worst thing the Rams could do.
