I disagree with those in the 'win the turnover battle" because ......1 int to 0 is winning the turnover battle and the possibility of scoring off it are completely random.

I believe if the Rams quit shooting themselves in the foot with penalties then they will most likely shooting the Sowboyc.

Either, without being decisive, is not that big a difference maker though. <In this I am shooting my own logic of course.>

Im hoping for Sam to have a good day. Im fully expecting some more dink and dunk to start the game off, which can be effective if its executed properly, but hopefully that opens it it up downfield for bigger shots. If we can get to Romo's ribs, not necessarily sacks, but at least give him a few licks I think our D-line could terrorize him.

Understood, but I still chose the turnover battle. In both the first games, Rams have been ONE possession from a win, and that's with LOSING the turnover battle. In the Cardinals game they got out on top in the 4th, in the Falcons, they didn't.

I think sacks, rushing yards, penalties, and the like will have lesser impact on victory than taking a potential point scoring possession away from the opponent and getting the O back out for an opportunity. But that's not the only reason it could translate to a victory.

Scoring off a turnover may be "random" as you say, but I'll tell this, turnovers have a very very very influential and non random impact on field position.

    my 2 cents

Check the metrics on any betting/advanced stat site & they'll indicate that turnovers are the biggest single factor in predicting NFL wins, even just being +1. Adding a QB with suspect ribs that could affect accuracy & his career tendency to expel cerebral gas at least once a game only adds to the significance, imo.

Penalties are obviously bad in general but not being able to get off the field on 3rd down did more damage to field position than even the STs flags, imo. No false starts, never mind sacks given up, last game in a loud ATL dome. The Rams will need more of the same @ The Ego Dome, for sure.

Which stat would most likely = a win @ Dallas?

    1) Rams win turnover ratio battle.

    2) Rams have more sacks than Cowboys.

    3) Rams have more rushing yards than Cowboys.

    4) Rams have fewer penalties than Cowboys.

    5) Sam Bradford has higher QB rating than Tony Romo.

    6) Dez Bryant held to under 80 yards receiving.

    7) DeMarcus Ware held without a sack.

    8) Rams score a defensive or special teams TD.

It will be interesting to see how many of these categories the Rams win after the game. 4 out of 8? 6 out of 8? More? Less? Sammy probably hopes for at least winning #5 and #7

Will "settle" for these seven factors. "Just" seven:

    1) Rams win turnover ratio battle.

    2) Rams have more sacks than Cowboys.

    3) Rams have more rushing yards than Cowboys.

    4) Rams have fewer penalties than Cowboys.

    5) Sam Bradford has higher QB rating than Tony Romo.

    6) Dez Bryant held to under 80 yards receiving. <- I wonder if he'll be at 80% physically?

    7) DeMarcus Ware held without a sack.

I went with the QB rating cause if Sammy can out perform Tony then he is probably not turning the ball over more than Tony is... Also if Tony has a tough day I belive we can stop their running game, as our run Defense has been good so far! Just my take on it, but god help us if we turn the ball over much or get lots of untimely penalties! Also as our pass coverage has been covered in many topics I won't say much cept it can only improve we are dead last over all in it! (Been listening to Miracles by Jefferson Starship tonite) LOL
