The forgotten man on O ..

As of late, most all the talk regarding our offense (for good reason) has centered around Givens, Austin, Quick, Cook, and even Stedman Bailey. There also has been debate as to who should backup who at the rb position. So who's the forgotten guy on O? Lance Kendricks. Unfortunately for Lance, he's a really good blocker, so he might not get as many "targets" as Cookie, but he does have good hands and above average speed for a tight end.

I don't know the extent of the injury Kendricks has been nursing, just that he's been sidelined. Lance if healthy will be on the field a lot this year. He knows this offense as well as any other receiver on the team. This is not a guy who struggled with the play book. If there are a couple of guys who haven't forgotten about Lance, those guys would be Schotty and Sam Bradford.

As Rambos and others have mentioned in other threads, real success for Sam will come if he is able to spread the ball around consistently, as opposed to locking in on a favorite target a la Danny Amendola. Given our new toys, Lance might find himself occasionally "forgotten" by opposing defenses. He will present matchup problems this year more than in previous years as defenses will be worrying about trying to cover our newest weapons, and emerging second year threats. If and when we employ a hurry-up no-huddle attack, it will be even more difficult for defenses to keep track of everyone. This could be Kendricks year to break out. We'll see come Sunday, although he's listed as questionable, he should be ready to play.

Excerpted from ESPN NFL Injury report:

Lance Kendricks, TE Questionable Sep 3
Comment: Kendricks should be healthy and ready to play in the season opener Sunday, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

I'll be looking for those 2 TE sets in the red zone.

Its nice to know we actually have enough potential weapons this year that we can temporarily "forget" about him.

He was not on the Rams' injury report, supposedly so I'm not sure why ESPN has him as Q...
    I believe!

I predict a red zone score for Mr. Kendricks in week 1 or 2.
